六月二日(rokugatsu futsuka): June 2

Prime Minister Mr. Hatoyama (鳩山) resigned today. The chief secretary of the Democratic Party of Japan, Mr. Ozawa (小沢) resigned together.
We have noticed that the supporting rate for the Prime Minister and the ruling party has been declining these days, especially since the end of May. But the resignation was a sudden decision for Japanese people, and the extra edition called gogai (号外) was issued today.
Since I was busy today during the daytime, I was informed about this from a foreigner at the reception this evening. Headline news of the evening paper and TV news was this.
We are wondering who will be the next leader of Japan. I hope somebody that can serve for the country and people for a long period will be chosen next time.
