2020.12.31

The last day of 2020.

It was fine.
I attended a zoom meeting in the morning. Half of the members attended. There was a surprise. I was appointed to escort the first new year's event as a power spot meister. It is a great honor but after many things considered, I decided to decline the offer.
Maybe next time.

This year I have not prepared the New Year's Cards yet by now, and finally today I was writing them. To my shock my printer suddenly became out of order and needed to be repaired. I decided to use the old one. It was OK at first, but there happened something wrong and I could not print addresses. I feel depressed.

There were lots of things I was going to do, but I couldn't.

How was your 2020?

I believe for most of the people it became an unforgettable year.

Nobody foresaw what we are experiencing now at this time of last year.

For me there were good things and bad things.
Thank you for everthing.
I hope 2021 will become a better one.

Have a nice New Year 2021!

Thsnk you, thank you, thank you.

2020.12.30

It was heavily raining early morning, but became fine and rather warm.

I stayed at home all day long and tried general cleaning. I washed my car and all the windows from outside, entrance, and so on.

After decorating flowers, I put New Year's decorations.

At night I joined a zoom year end party.

Usually on December 30 I have a year-end party with classmates of high school. I hope we can get together next year as usual.

2020.12.29

It was fine.

I had an appointment from 13:00 and it was supposed to be two hours, but we enjoyed talking, and finished at 17:00.

Before or after I was going to visit shrines but gave up.

It was a nice reunion.

After coming back I went shopping for New Year's.

There was a zoom year-end party of the morning activity group. It was fun.

Thank you, thank you..thank you.

2020.12.28

It was fine.

They say it will be colder from tomorrow.

Today is the last working day of this year.

I walked to the station to drink tonight.

After work I went to izakata (居酒屋) in Shinagawa to have dinner. I enjoyed some Japanese sake with seafood apetizers.

2020.12.26

It was fine.

I stayed at home all day long.

There were lots of things to do but I did not do anything.....

There were some replies to my Christmas gift of the e-photobook. To my glad it became No.1 in the USA and Spain as well as Japan. I am glad to hear from friends around the world. I hope to see them someday again without any restriction.

Tomorrow is the last working day of the year. This year there are only 6 days off at the end and beginning of the year.

2020.12.26

It was fine.

I started the day with laughter yoga.

I went to massage in the morning, which is my one a month health treatment.

After having lunch I headed for Enoshima.

This year in September I went to Chikubushima island in Shiga and in November I went to Miyajima island in Hiroshima. Since I went to two of the three great shrines which enshrine Benzaiten, I wanted to visit Enoshima Island by all means within this year and I dicided to go with my Power Spot Laboratory friends.

We walked around the island and visited shrines, a temple, and caves.

In the evening we took a illumination cruise. Sunset was beautiful, so as night illuminations.

We enjoyed the local specialty bowl for dinner.

After coming back, I attended a zoom meeting.

It was a nice day.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

2020 12 25

Merry Christmas!!

Hello.  How have you been?

I hope you are doing fine.

The other day I published the fifth e-photobook about South America.

Here is my Christmas present for you.

You can download it for free of charge for just 5 days.

I hope you enjoy.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08R449VSQ

2020.12.24

Merry Christmas!

How are you spending this day?

I went to office as usual.  There was a present of Christmas cake, which a very famous pastry chef produced. It was cute and delicious.

In Japan we eat Christmas cake and roast chicken for Christmas eve.

Most of us are buddhist and shintoist and not Christian. Therefore the way of celebrating Christmas is quite different from other Christian countries.

I enjoyed attending a zoom tea party to learn the relationship of Numerology and Color tonight.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

2020.12.21

It was fine.

Today is toji (冬至), winter solstice. It is the day when the daytime is the shortest and the night time is the longest in a year.
On this day we eat pumpkin, and we take a yuzuyu (柚子湯), hot bath with yuzu fruit. If we do so, it is said we do not get a cold.

They say the new era of wind starts tomorrow.

I took an earlier train to go to health check in Tachikawa. It was rarher far. I took two gynecological examinations after a long time, one for breast cancer, the other for uterus cancer. Both exams are painful.

For lunch I bought a pumpkin dish.

I took a yuzu bath.

2020.12.20

It was fine and very cold.

I started the day with Kid's yoga for adults. After the lesson three of us enjoyed talking. It was fun to know about people whom I only know through zoom lessons.

In the morning I had to stay home to receive three re-delivery goods. I had waited for one more visitor in the morning, but since they did not come I called and changed the schedule to night.

I went to Sugita to shop some gifts and went to Yokohama to see a Japanese movie.

In the night I attended a zoom seminar about wtiting.

There were something I wanted to do, but could not.

2020.12.19

It was fine and very cold in the morning, but became cloudy and even hailed when I was at the mountain.

I went to Isehara to learn the strings art for the second time. Before that we visited the Oyama Afuri Jinja shrine. The view from the mountain was very nice and I could see Enoshima island and Oshima island.
I wanted to go up to the summit but we did not have enough time.
Maybe next time.

We had a nice tofu course lunch.

After that we went to the instructor's house and enjoyed making strings art. This time I made yin and yang by gold and silver strings.
I am glad to have made it.

After coming back to Yokohama, I went to bookstores to buy my favorite 10 years diary. However to my shock it seems they are discontinued. Therefore I bought a different 10 years diary.
It will be another treasure of my 10 years history record.

At night there was a zoom drinking party of my university friends. I just attended for a short time. One was attending from Chile, and the other was from Iwate prefecture.
This was the second time for us to have such a reunion.
It is nice to see old friends, isn't it?

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

2020.12.18

It was fine and very cold.

On my way back I attended two zoom seminars on the train. One was about language and translation, and the other was about horoscope.

There are only two weeks left this year.
How fast time flies!

Usually we have the year end party around this time of the year. However because of COVID-19, many people refrain from having parties this year.

How about in your country?

There was an anmouncement of The Kanji of the Year yesterday. This year's kanji is mitsu (密) which means "closed." Because of COVID-19, we are asked to avoid sanmutsu (三密) which means Three Cs in English: 1 Closed spaces 2 Crowded places 3 Close-contact settings.
They ssy there were 208,025 entries, and mitsu got 28,401 votes.

Today is the new moon. Let's write the wishes!

It was fine at first, became rain, and became fine again and rained again.

I started the day with Kid's yoga for adults.

After checking out the hotel we headed for seven waterfalls. It was so nice. After finishing seven waterfalls visit, it started raining. I felt very lucky.

We had soba noodle lunch. The restaurant seems very famous and crowded.

We visited two shrines.

And we had sweets.

After coming back to Kanazawa station, I went to a shrine and the castle park by myself, and took a bus to go around the city.

After that I had seafood dinner.

It was a nice trip eating delicious foods here and there and visiting many shrines and waterfalls.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

2020.12.12

It was a rainy day but became fine too.

I started the day with laughter yoga.

First we went to have lunch at a Sushi restaurant in Toyama. It was a nice experience.

Next we visited Kosokotai jingu shrine where there are enshrined 126 gods. The way of procedure of praying is different from other shrines. Usually we bow twice and clap twice and once bow again. But there we did four bows and 8 claps.
The yellow and red leaves were so beautiful.

Third we visited a park where there is the most beautiful Starbucks. It seems it is beautiful at night.

Fourth we visited the Sake brewer. There was a surprise there.

Fifth we went to have dinner at the same restaurant as yesterday.
There were lots of dishes and I could not finish all.

It was another nice day.

2020.12.10

It was fine.

After work I stayed at the office to attend a zoom meeting.

I take a day off tomorrow to attend a special tour in Kanazawa.
There are four ways to go there, by Shinkansen, by airplane, by car, and by Express bus.
I decided to take a night bus leaving Tokyo at 22:20 and arriving at Kanazawa at 8:05.
It must be a longest time but the cheapest way. To my lucky I found a reasonable ticket by a special campaign.

This may be the first time for me to leave from the Kajibashi parking lot to take a night bus. My bus is delayed a little bit.

2020.12.9

It was fine.

I usually go to convenience stores before going to office to buy lunch so that I can make use of lunch time. First 15 minutes I watch NHK's morning drama's rebroadcast from 12:45, and news for 5 minutes and have lunch watching YouTube or sonething.

So usually I stay in my office most of the time.

I saw beautiful clouds in the afternoon through windows.

2020.12.5

It was a rainy day.

I went to Roppongi to visit "NO BORDERS  A TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY ART EXHIBIT 2020" at The National Art Centet, Tokyo with someone whom I met at Tomonoura tour last month.

In Roppongi there are three places I want to visit whenever I go there. Her train seemed delayed, therefore I visited Izumotaisha shrine Tokyo branch and Tenso shrine before meeting her and Fuji Film Square after the exhibition together.
The exhibition was really nice and I felt "Art is unlimited."
At Fuji Film Square there was an interesting service of making a photo post card.

We had a nice lunch at a Japanese restaurant.

After that I went to Omiya to take a calligraphy lesson. It was fun. After three hours lesson we moved to a nearby family restaurant and drew some more works again.

After that I met my friend from Expo '92 and had dinner, and went to a cafe to have dessert.

It was a nice day.

Thank you, thank you., thank you.

2020.12.4

It was fine.

I took an hour off to attend the year-end monthly meeting. Before that I went shopping for tomorrow's Calligraphy lesson. Every day I only go to the office from the station via convenience stores, and sometimes I go out for lunch, and go to the post office. Therefore I have not walked around the area. I found many used book stores, tea rooms and restaurants around the station.

The meeting was nice. I am inspired whenever I attend there. It is nice to listen to the story of successful people.

At night I tried to watch my friend"s Facebook live but I myself appeared by chance.

2020.12.3

It was cloudy and cool today.

I am planning many things.

I was going to see a movie in the morning of Saturday but I found today was the last day of showing. How shocked!
I think we should do something when we want to do. Otherwise the chance will leave without waiting for us.

I have been thinking whether I should attend the event next month or not. I feel like attending but I need to take at least a half day off and it costs a lot. But I applied.

At night I attended Month reading zoom session for two hours or so. It was fun and we decided to get together for the special interest meeting in four weeks.

2020.12.2

It was cloudy and cold in the morning but became rain in the afternoon.

I attended a bilingual event by YouTube live. It was hard to listen. I should have chosen one language to concentrate.

At night I talked with someone by zoom. I have known her for several months from the same interest community, but have never talked face to face until today. We found something in common and enjoyed talking.

These days I receive many stock related documents including calendars and winter gifts. Yesterday I chose new rice and today I chose seafoods. It's so nice to have such good stocks.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

2020.12.1

A new month has started. December is junigatsu (12月 or 十二月), the twelfth month, or called shiwasu (師走), meaning teachers run.

It is hard to believe there is only one month left.

Before going to the office I visited the nearby shrine as a ritual of the first day of the month.

In the afternoon I watched "Brand Japan Award Ceremony" by YouTube. It was very interesting.
I did not know Calpis has more than 100 years of history.

Today there was an announcement of the word of the year. Sanmutsu (3密) was chosen for the grandprix. Sanmitsu means 3C in English: Crowded places, Closed-contact Settings, and Confined and enclosed Space.

2020.11.30

It was fine and cold.

It is the last day of November, and today is the fullmoon.

It is hard to believe there is only one month left.

Every last day of the month I make a photobook. First I upload about 30 pictures and choose 20 of them.
There are only 30 days this month, but I had many memorative events, and at each event I took many pictures. Therefore it is very difficult to select only 20 pictures.
What a happy life I am having!

After coming back I went to a gas station to fill up my car. I felt relieved to do so.

There were two surprises. One is a good one. My garden was cleaned by a volunteer. The other was not good. It was an additional estimation for repair construction of the roof. I hope my insurance will cover all.

2020.11.29

It was cloudy and fine.

I stayed at home and did not go out at all on the contrary to my plan.

I started the day with  Kids' yoga for adults. It was nice to chat wih online friends.

After that I attended the zoom exchange meeting for the Power Spot Meisters for two hours or so.

I contacted with roof repair related people to apply for insurance.

I was going out to fill up the car but gave up and read a book and a magazine, cooked dinner, watched a YouTube Live, made some plans for December, and so on.

I could relax.

It was a nice weekend.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Tenth I tied indigo thread and hooked the11th pins until it came back to the first pin, and tied with the other end at the first pin. .
Eleventh I glued all the knots at the first pin.

I am very happy to have made a very beautiful artwork.

After that the instructor and I went to have late lunch and I headed for Narimasu to attend a commemorative lecture of Ms. Utako Shiratori's new book. It started at 17:00 and lasted for three hours. I learned a lot.
After that eight of us went to have dinner.

It was a nice day.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

2020.11.27

It was fine.

After work I had dinner with my friends at Shibuya. I know both of them and connected them when I was working at the previous job in 2015.
Finally I could introduce them directly.

We had a good time.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

2020.11.26

It was fine.

Do you know something about 12 zodiac signs? There is a cycle of 12 zodiac signs for time, day, and a year. Today is a day of cock. In November there are three days of cocks this year, and there are festivals on this day at the bird related shrines. Festival of the first cock day is called ichi no tori (一の酉), the second cock day is called ni no tori (二の酉), and the third cock day is called san no tori (三の酉). Today is san no tori, therefore I visited the Otori jinja (大鳥神社) shrine in Meguro.

I arrived there around 7pm and the ceremony has just begun. There was a long waiting line but when I approached at the main building, they were just dedicating the music and dance called okagura (お神楽). Therefore I felt lucky.

This was the third year for me to visit there on the day of cock which is called "Tori no ichi (酉の市)", Cock Market and I bought a rake shaped charm for the first time.
At the shrine there were many shops selling the decoration of rakes. The say the value is from yen1,000 to yen 300,000.

After that I ate dinner at a seafood casual restaurant.

It was a nice evening.

Wednesday, November 25, 2020

2020.11.25

It was a rainy day.

There was something I wanted to order today for the Cyber Monday special. In the morning it was too early to order. At lunch time it was too late to do. They say the goods were sold out for just 15 minutes.

I applied for a seminar tonight, and it seems accepted.

There is a saying "If a door is closed, a window is open."

This is the fortune telling of May borner written in the newspaper today.

2020.11.24

It was cloudy and very cold.

After four days off I was rather busy at office but it is better than nothing to do.

Usually I read ebooks or emails or Facebook and so on during my commuting. Today I read a book instead after a long time.

In the evening I booked a restaurant for Friday. It must be very delicious.

I got an unexpected call at night. What looks bad usually becomes good. So I am looking for what the future brings.

Monday, November 23, 2020

2020.11.23

It was fine.

Today is a national holiday called kinro kansha no hi (勤労感謝の日), Labor Thanksgiving Day.

It is the day when one of the important ceremonies of the year called niinamesai (新嘗祭) is held at the Imperial Palace. The ritual is offered the harvests of the year to the shinto gods by the Emperor and he himself eats with them later. In the shinto shrines around the Japan the ceremony is also taken places.

I visited the nearby shrine to see the ceremony.  It started at 3 pm and lasted for an hour and was very sacred. I am glad to have attended.

I had a good four day weekend.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Sunday, November 22, 2020

2020.11.22

I expected the roof inspector would come at 10 am, but it seems he has forgot the appointment.
So we changed the schedule.

I left home around 11am and went to Ueno first to visit the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum to see Seiko Art Exhibition in which my old friend exhibited her art work. Unfortunately she got a cold and took a day off and I could not see her but saw her picture.

After that I visited Nedu shrine and Hakusan shrine which are both one of 10 shrines in Tokyo.

After that I went to Tokyo Big Sight to see the Healing Fair where I met some friends. Compared to the past fairs, the size and the number of the visitors seemed smaller. I have stayed there for three hours or so.

It was another eventful day.

2020.11.21

I slept long and attended the laughter yoga just for 5 to 10 minutes.

First I went to massage in the morning after a long time. She said my body condition was far much better than before.

After that I went to Kimono-style Miya to ask the estimation of repairing the zori shoes.

2020.11.19

It was anorher fine and warm autumn day.

There was a meeting in the afternoon, and I could solve some questions.

After coming home I joined a zoom seminar. It was about to create an income through what we like to do.

I like traveling, taking pictures, and publishing. I have been doing for one year and a hal but It does not create another pillar of income yet.
To know customers' needs and to offer them what I can is the way to create income.

To make a clear goal is important was what I learned tonight.

2020.11 18

It was fine and rather warm.

The number of the infected people in Japan and Tokyo is increasing. It exceeds 2200 people per one day nationwide. In Tokyo it was 493 who are newly diagnosed, and it is a new record.

Another news I was surprised was clams on the beach in Kujyukurihama. They don't know the reason why it happened.

2020.11.17

It was fine.

I woke up at 6 am but slept again and took a later train. To my lucky I was in time.

At lunch time and on my way home in Yokosuka I went to banks because today is a payday.

Today is one of the best days in our calendar this year.  It is called tenshabi(天赦日), which happens only seven days or so in a year. Today is the last day of this year.
I hoped to publish another e-photobook, but I could not prepare it.

Instead I enjoyed attending an interesting zoom seminar and made friends.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Tuesday, November 17, 2020

2020.11.16

It was fine.

I am still trying to organize the office room. There are many things left from the person who worked before. It is hard to throw them away and they are just accumlating.

I got some unexpected emails. One of them was from a junior of university. I do not remember but it seems I was with another from the university at the group of rhe seminar.
The other was from my uncle whose address I do not have. He wrote from my dead aunt's email account to tell me her funeral went well yesterday.
Another was from my high school friend. I thought she was in Germany, but it seems she was in Japan until recently to take care of parent-in-law.

2020.11.15

I went to the nearby shrine first as a ritual of the 15th of the month.

November 15 is known as shichigosan (七五三), which means seven, five, three. Those family who have daughters at the age of three and seven, and sons at the age of five go to shrine to pray their healthy growth.

I went to Yokohama to have my hair set and dressed to attend a kimono party.

2020.11 13

It was fine.

The first day of the new office.

In the morning I attended the photo shooting session for the website.

In the afternoon I tried to clear the room.

After work I went to Shinagawa to have dinner. I checked Shinagawa and Shanghai crab by website and went to a Chinese restaurant but unfortunately rhey did not have Shanghai crab.

There were some Christmas decorations here and there.

2020.11.12

It was fine.

Today at the office I moved to another room. Physical moving was not difficult after a year stay, but there were many data accumulated in the PC, so it took a while to delete. To my lucky I could ask someone in charge of IT.

I booked the medical check for women's section. I was going to book this month, but it seems crowded.

We paid a formal visit to Miho shrine.

Everything went well.

I changed my schedule and took an earlier bus to Hiroshima.
After checked in the hotel, I went out for dinner, and ate the famous local foods called okonomiyaki. Hiroshima's okonomiyaki includes noodles. I could use the local coupon.

2020.11.4

It was fine but cold. Mt. Fuji looked very beautiful with the moon.

They said the kogarashi No. 1 blew today.

In the USA it is a big day.  I can't believe it has been already passed four years!

When I was in the USA in 1996, the voting paper is one of the most surprising one. In Japan election is always held on Sunday, but in the USA it is held on Tuesday. That was also a surprise.
When I was in the USA from 2006 to 2008, I noticed about the seal "I voted."

We will see who will be soon.

Tonight is jugoya (十五夜) the 15th night in luner calendar. It is a time when we enjoy viewing the harvest moon which is called chushu no meigetsu (中秋の名月).  Viewing the moon is called otsukimi (お月見) in Japanese. We really like the natural beauty. On this day we decorate dumpling and silver grass.

I have been to many shrines and temples after becoming a powerspot Meister in June.

I have published 12 ebooks from May 2019 to May 2020, and two e-photobooks from August to September 2020.

After that I got on the longest cable in Japan up to Mt. Hiei. It's been a long time, may be when I was a junior high school student since I went there last.
I could not see many there but enjoyed the sceneries.

I came down by 5 pm cable and took Keihan line to Otsukyo and changed to JR and came back to the hotel in Kyoto to pick up the luggage.

After that I came to Osaka.

My free book campaign started. I hope many people will enjoy my photo book.

It was a fruitful day.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

2020.9.20

It was cloudy.

I made rice balls for lunch, left home around 8:30 am, and headed for Shinagawa to get the Shinkansen at 10:28 bound for Kyoto arriving at 12:32.

I went to the hotel first to leave a luggage, and headed for Fushimi Inari Taisha (伏見稲荷大社) shrine. This is the second time for me to go there. Last time I did not have enough time to climb up the mountain.
Today I have spent there for more than three hours.
There were so many shrines there. They say there are about 30,000 Inari jinja in Japan, and It is the head shrine of all the Inari shrines throughout the country.

I got tired and decided to have supper at the hotel.

It was a nice day.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

2020.9.19

It was fine and hot.

I got up early inspite of Saturday and did TV exercise first.  From 8am I attended the laughter yoga.

I got inquiry sheets of National census which happens once in 5 years. If you want to mail back, you need to post after October 1. So I chose to do by Internet. It was easy and took only a few minutes.

I stayed at home in the morning to get something delivered.

Today is higan no iri (彼岸の入り), the first day of autumn equinox week. Therefore I went to my parents' graveyard.

In the afternoon I went to a beauty salon to have my hair cut and permed.

After that I went to a kimono shop to buy something, but unfortunately they did not have.

2020.9.17

It was cloudy.

Since today is a pay day, I went to ATM and transferred some payment during lunch time.

At the convenience store when I went to buy lunch, I happened to see a lucky coupon of Yogurt. If you buy a certain yogurt, you can get a free coupon for the new product which will be released next week.

When I was in the United States, I often saw rhe sign of "Buy one, and get one for free" at the supernarket.
I do not know about the mechanism of discout well. Does this mean the original price is less than the half price of the fixed price?

Today is a new moon. It is a good time to wish something.

2020.9.16

It was cloudy.
It seemed rained here in the evening.

I could get up early and decided to take an earlier train, and went shopping lunch before going to office not to get rain. But it did not rain in Tokyo.

After work I went to a travel agency in Shinagawa again and bought a tour ticket for three prefectures in Kansai for three days. This looks very reasonable.

After coming back, I bought a commuter ticket for a month at the vending machine.

At night we had a monthly zoom meeting.

Today the Suga new cabinet started.

I went to the nearby shrine before going to work as a ritual of the 15th day of the month.

After work I went to a travel agency to book for a trip to Kansai next week. Because of the "Go to travel campaign" I could book at the very reasonable price, furthermore I got some presents too.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

It was cloudy in the morning, but rained in the afternoon, and became fine in the evening.

In the morning I attended Kid's yoga only for a shirt time.
Before noon I have my car inspected. It happens twice a year. They said my tires were in the dangerous situation. Therefore I had to change four of them. I did it three years ago.

After that I went grocery shopping.

In the afternoon I went to Miurakaigan beach  to see my friend. There were some people enjoying kite surfing.

After that I did additional shopping.

I received two re-delivered goods.

There were two good international Japanese-related news today.

The other is Venice Film Festival. Director Kiyoshi Kurosawa got the Silver Lion Award for "Wife of s spy."
Congratulation!!!!!

After that I went to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant nearby with 3 friends and enjoyed eating and talking.

On my way to the station, it was slightly raining and I used an umbrella which I got from Kimono-Style Miya as a gift. The design was white dots when it is dry, but after the rain, dots became colored. I was surprised.

2020.9.11

It was fine.
I saw the beautiful Mt. Fuji and blue sky with the white moon and clouds in the morning.
Late at night it began raining.

It's been 19 years since the 9.11 happened. I still remember the TV news scene of crashing the airplane at the World Trade Center building. It was like a movie.
In 2007 I visited the gound zero for the first time.

There was a meeting with my boss to review the year performance.

Today is nihyakuhatsuka (二百二十日), the 220th day since the first day of spring. It is thought as one of the bad weather days as well as August 1 in lunar calendar and 210th day since the first day of spring. But it was a good weather today and the sky was so beautiful with white clouds.

2020.9.9

It was fine and nice.

September 9 is known as choyo no sekku (重陽の節句) double 9th festival or kiku no sekku (菊の節句) festival of chrysanthemum, which is one of the five annual ceremonies in Japan. Choyo literally means double positive. Odd numbers are positive and even numbers are negative. Nine is the biggest odd number, and September 9 means 9 & 9, that is double 9.

Other four festivals are jinjitsu no sekku (人日の節句) or nanakusa no sekku (七草の節句) on January 7, joshi no sekku (上巳の節句) or momo no sekku (桃の節句) on March 3, tango no sekku (端午の節句) or shobu no sekku (菖蒲の節句) on May 5, and shichiseki no sekku (七夕の節句) or sasa no sekku (笹の節句) on July 7.

There are event's foods of the day. They are kikuzake (菊酒), sake drunk with floating petal of chrysanthemum and kuri gohan (栗ご飯) chestnut rice.

Today is ichiryumanbaibi (一粒万倍日), the day one grain becomes 10000 times. It is a good day to start something. What did you start today?

2020.9.8

It was fine and hot, but the sunset is surely becoming earlier.

There was a meeting and I became busy for making some documents.

I have talked with some people by messenger. To my glad the host of B&B in Alaska found me and sent me a message through messaenger. It"s been a long time since I visited their place.

While I was communicated with a friend, we decided to go to a shrine with the members of the same group. He posted a short message about the event to our group page. I was impressed by the speedy action.

2020.9.7

It was a rainy day. But to my lucky I did not have to use the umbrella.
The biggest typhoon No.10 passed Kyushu and Shikoku area today.

Today is hakuro (白露), one of nijushisekki (二十四節気), the 24 solar terms. The last one was shosho (処暑) on August 23  and the next one is shubun (秋分) on September 22.  Hakuro literally means white dew. It is the time when air becomes cooler and dew appears. But it is still hot.

Since it was heavily raining at lunch time, I went to the dining hall. I seldom go there and did not know they open shorter than before but to my lucky I could eat there. Moreover they added cutlet on curry because there were some leftovers and I was the last customer of the dsy.
How lucky I  am!

Direct communication is important, isn't it?

2020.9.2

It was a slightly rainy day in the morning, partially heavily rained, but became fine later.

Today is one of the luckiest days in a year called tenshabi (天赦日) which means the heaven forgives everything and tonight is the fullmoon. Therefore it is said that today is a good day to start something.

There were lots of works at office and I felt good to have contributed many things.

I attended some online events.

I could report about my photobook ranking to the teacher.

I could communicate with many people.

A new month has started. September is kugatsu (9月、九月) , the ninth month or nagatsuki (長月), literally long month.

It was cool this morning and I feel the autumn has come.

I started the day to change the offerings at the household alter and visited the nearby shrine as a ritual of the first day of the month.

Today is ichiryumanbaibi (一粒万倍日), when one grain becomes 10000 times.
I am very looking forward to seeing the result of one grain I sowed today.

There was a very interesting thing today. I got to know a woman in April and a man in June but I did not realize they were couple until this morning.
Life is very interesting, isn't it?

We had a formal visit at two shrines.

It was a nice experience.

There was a traffic jam on our way back, and we returned at Shinjuku at 9:30 pm.
I came home just before midnight.

2020.8.28

It was fine and very hot.

After work I decided to see a movie at Kawasaki because the free ticket will be expired at the end of the month. I did not have any idea what to see. There were three movies available at that time. I checked the ranking by the Internet. No. 1 movie was the one I saw the day before yesterday, so that I chose the second one, Yowamushi pedal (弱虫ペダル). It was very interesting. I am glad to choose it.

I heard the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe decided to resign because of his health problem which caused him to step down when he was in the same position before.

Health is the most important. Without health we cannot do our best.

Do you believe in the Red String of the destiny? This is the happy ending story of a couple which have had complex lives for 30 years.
I am glad to see it finally.

2020.8.25

It was fine and another hot day.

Today is ichiryumanbaibi (一粒万倍日) when one grain becomes 10000 times. It is a good time to start something.

Did you start something?

I like traveling but we cannot travel freely under this COVID-19 situation.
So I tried to list up the places where I want to visit both in and outside Japan.
Basically I like to see waterfalls and water places.
There were many places both in Japan and outside Japan where I want to go..
To my interesting in Japan most of the places I want to visit were islands and holy places.

I hope to visit all of them near future.

2020.8.24

It was fine and very hot.

There has been some problems about Dropbox since last month and asked about it to the person in charge at work, but she has been busy and could not get the answer for a long time.
I wrote an email to the help center of Dropbox in the morning, and I got a reply within a few hours.
I should have asked to them from the beginning

I felt I have wasted time.

It was fine and another extremely hot day. Even at night it is nearly 30 degrees centigrade, It is called nettaiya (熱帯夜), tropical night.

We are experiencing unusual summer this year because of Covid-19.

Usually people go back to their home town during o-bon season from August 13 to 16 and visit the graveyard, have a dance meeting called bon-odori (盆踊り), have fire works festivals here and there. There is a high school baseball tournament called koshien(甲子園), etc.

Nothing happened. Many peolpe tried to stay home to keep themselves safe.

2020.8.17

It was fine and extremely hot even if I used the air-conditioning.
They say in Hamamatsu it went up to over 40 degrees centigrade.

Today is my father's 5th year death anniversary whichi is called meinuchi (命日).Meinichi literally means life day, but actually means dead day.

I still remember the day quite well. It was a very hot day and I was in the summer vacation. I was washing the windows and mesh screen doors of the second floors at the balcony. I did not have my smartphone with me while washing and I did not notice the calls from the hospital. So I could not be with him at his last time. Not only me but also anybody. He was alive when my brother visited him in the morning. When the nurse went to his room, he had already passed away.

He got a stomache cancer and had surgery to take out all the stomache and other organs at the age of 53. He overcame the cancer but had serveral diseases and died at the age of 80.

He has been my hero for a long time. He inspired me a lot. I wish he is still alive!

May his soul rest in peace!

It was fine and hot.
Depending on the place it seemed to have rained heavily with thunder.

In the morning septic tank inspector came to check. There were weeds around the tank. He was very kind to have cut the weeds around the tank and the driveway.  I have thought I should have done that for a long time, so I am glad.  There are more to do in the garden. I'd better do little by little.

I went to Shinagawa to attend seminars in the afternoon. I met some friends there.

It is the 35th anniversary of JAL's crashing accident on the Mt. Osutaka. 520 passengers and airline related were killed in the accident.

Today at 11:02 am 75 years ago, the second atomic bomb was dropped in Nagasaki. Since it is Sunday I watched the memorial service on TV.
The total casualty by now reached 185982 people.

I stayed at home all day long to review the lesson of master number and watch the lectures for tomorrow for 5 hours.

I cooked rice which I bought at Jashihara jingu shrine in March. There were about 300g of white rice and 10g of black rice. Cooked rice looked purple with much black rice. Very unique.

Today is risshu (立秋), one of nijushisekki (二十四節気), the 24 solar terms. The last one was taisho (大暑) on July 22, and the next one is shosho (処暑) on August 23.
Risshu means stand autumn, which means the start of autumn.
This year the rainy season lasted longer than usual, and summer has just begun. But on the lunar calendar it is already autumn.

We had a long zoom neeting again.

I watched a movie on TV at night.
