It was fine.

I attended a zoom seminar from 9 AM.

I cleared the things and cleaned the house in the morning.

After lunch I went to my parents' graveyard.

I went grocery shopping at three supermarkets in the afternoon for new years.

After coming home, I noticed that my garden was taken care of. How nice it is!

I decorated flowers, rice cakes called kagami mochi (鏡餅), and new year's decoration at the entrance to prepare for the New Year.

At night I held the 28th Bilingual Fortune Sharing Tea Party. There were 5 participants tonight. I am very glad to see them.

My 107th present campaign was over and the 108th present campaign has started.

It was fine.

My winter holiday started.

I went to Shinagawa first to attend a meeting and to Yokohama to see movies. I watched a Japanese movie and an English movie "Wanka."

I went to a bookstore to buy "My Book 2024.'' It is a blank paperback we can use as diary. I have used the series more than 20 years.

I published the 110th ebook today. This is the 50th ebook of this year.

To my delight the 107th ebook became No.1 in the USA and Japan.

At night I attended a zoom year end party.

It was fine.

I got up early before the alarm, and made rice balls for lunch because the cafeteria is closed.

Today was the last working day of this year.

I enjoyed talking with colleagues at lunch time.

I shredded papers I have kept for a long time.

I published the 109th ebook. To my delight it's been No.1 in Japan.

I made the 110th ebook which will be the last publication of this year.

To my delight 107th ebook has become No.1 in Japan.

Merry Christmas!

It was fine but very cold.

I published the 108th ebook.

I got up very early to catch 6:00 train. I arrived at Maihama at 8:09 and got together with a friend who invited me to the Tokyo Disney Sea. 

There were so many people waiting at the entrance before opening more than 30 mimutes ago.

It's been 40 years since the Tokyo Disney land opened, and 22 years since the Tokyo Disney Sea opened.

It's been 40 years since I passed the Christmas at Disney and this is the very first time for me to go to Disney Sea where I have wanted to visit for a long time.

We enjoyed walking around tulips, riding some attructions, watching shows, eating special menues, seeing beautiful sceneries, and selecting special edition of souvenirs.

It was a nice holiday.

Merry Christmas!

It was fine.

I went to Ginza to see the performance which I got the invitation tickets. It started at 12:30.  There were many songs and dances. First part was like musical. It was about two hours show with 15 minutes break. I invited a friend and she gave me a box of chocolates in return.

I sent a Christmas letter by emails.

To my delight my 107th ebook became No.1 in Japan.

At night I attended a zoom seminar which was nice.

It was fine but very cold.

 

To my delight my 106th ebook became No.1 in the USA and Japan for several sections.

I published the 107th ebook.

I wore kimono and headed for Kimono Style Miya to have my hair set, make up, dressed up, and my pictures taken.

After that I went to Iseyama kotai jingu shrine and Naritasan temple and headed for a Japanese style restaurant in Kannai to have lunch with high school tennis club mates after 10 years or so.

We talked, talked, and talked.

After that we went to Minato mirai and enjoyed sweets at a Japanese style tea house.

I got many presents today.

It was fine.

I got up earlier and left home earlier.

Mt.Fuji looked so beautiful that I stopped at Tateishi to take pictures.

Today is Toji (冬至), winter solstice. It is the time when the day is the shortest in a year.

We eat pumpkin and take yuzu bath on Toji. So I do.

They say it is good to start something.

My 105th ebook campaign was over and of the 106th started.

It was fine, cold and windy.

On my way to work I posted Christmas cards. I should have started earlier which I think every year.

After supper I watched Men's Figure Skating Short program on TV.

After that I chose pictures for three books.

It was fine.

I worked at home.

I received the redelivery goods of the return of hometown tax. I tried it for the first time and got 1kg of 40 bags of mixed nuts by yen 5,000. It was good and I liked it.

At lunch time I went to post office to buy new years post cards and send a Christmas present to UK. It's been a long time since l sent a small packet abroad. The postage was yen870.

They say the domestic postage will be  raised next fall after 30 years, for post card from yen 63 to yen, and for letters yen84 to yen110.

I prepared some Christmas cards tonight and knew the postage became from yen110 to yen140. I have not noticed about it.

It was fine.

Today is taian (大安), a good day to do anything special.

After work I went to a supermarket to buy  the decorations for the new year, one for entrance and the other for the alcove.

I went to another shop to buy wrapping goods.

I got a delivery notice of the return goods of hometown tax. I arranged to receive it tomorrow.

It was fine.

To my delight my 105th ebook has become No.1 in the USA and Japan, and 106th ebook has become No.1 in Japan.

After work I went to a coffee shop to see somebody and tried the new menus.

After that I went to a shop to look for wrapping goods, but did not buy anything.

There I knew today is a good day to buy new year's decoration because today is the 18th and 8 is written as 八 in Japanese which means widening at the end. 

There are only two weeks left. How fast 2023 passed!

It was fine.

I stayed at home all day long.

Free promotion of my 105th book has started. I announced it as a gift of my appreciation of becoming No.1 in Japan. So many people replied with "Congratulations!"

I published the 106th ebook.

At night I attended a zoom seminar.

It was fine and rather hot, in some places it became the mid summer day. It seemed to have rained in Miura.

I went to Kitakurihama to take a Microsoft Office Specialist Word 365＆2019 Examination in the morning. To my glad I passed the examination.

After that I went to Shinjuku to have lunch with three classmates. We stayed there for more than three hours and a half and ate many freshly baked bread.

After that I went to see the Dragon Art Exhibition. I saw the artists too.

My 105th ebook has been No.1 in Japan.

It was cloudy at first and became rain.

I threw away four bags of leaves and other things and went to the nearby shrine as a ritual of the 15th day, and went to the post.

I worked at home. 

After a while it started raining and became windy.

Today I published the 105th ebook after two months account suspension. It is the 30th ebook of the Sunlight series. I am glad to be able to publish again.

I attended a zoom seminar at night which was really inspiring.

They say tonight is the peak of the Geminids Meteor shower.

At this moment it is cloudy, so I will try later.

Unfortunately my account of the Kindle Direct Publishing has been closed for two months without knowing why, and I have contacted with them many times.

Tonight I finally got the favorable reply from the Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. I will be able to start publishing again soon.

It was fine.

Mt. Fuji looked very beautiful covered with snow about the 6th or 7th station.

Today is the new moon, the start of November in the lunar calendar.

I visited the nearby shrine before going to work.

After arriving the office, I went out to take pictures of mount Fuji.

After coming home, I cooked using the ingredient I bought in Okinawa. It was rather good.

It was rainy.

Every year one Kanji character is chosen to represent the year.

This year zei (税) is chosen as the Kanji of the year. One of the reasons is the introduction of a new Invoice system since October.

I cooked a new dessert which I saw from the Facebook reel post recently. I am looking forward to tasting tomorrow.

After dinner I had a free zoom session about the Sweet Spot Theory. I was advised to watch the videos first, and I did after that.

Maybe it is not the time now to learn about it.

Yesterday Shohei Otani announced that he would move to the Los Angels Dodgers by the contract of $700,000,000 for 10 years. Wow!

It was cloudy and cool.

I am organizing two reunions this month.

One for this Saturday, the other for next Saturday.

The former is for the classmates for travel related school I attended from February to March. I chose a restaurants in Shinjuku from which I got the invitation card with yen 500 off coupon. We have been there to have Afternoon Tea on my last day at the school.

The latter is for high school tennis club mates. It's been so long since we got together. We have been to Hokkaido to eat crabs when we were in the 20s, and a crab restaurant in Yokosuka last time. So I looked for a crab restaurant in Yokohama this time. I picked up 4 restaurants and asked the members to choose. I booked the one tonight.

I am looking forward to seeing them.

They say it's been 30 years since the first UNESCO's World Heritage Sites in Japan were listed.

It was fine and very warm.

So I dried the futon after a long time.

I stayed at home most of time.

I went to pay the community fee to the chief. She gave me two big apples from Nagano. She said it would be more delicious if you use the microwave.

So I ate a half as it was for lunch and a quarter of warmed one for dinner.

Both were good but I like fresh one better.

My neighbor came to return of condolences for her husband.

At night I attended a zoom seminar for calendar reading.

It was fine and warm.

I stayed at home all day long.

I checked the antenna and found the reason I could not watch some channels.

I did gardening in the afternoon after a long time. I will have a lower back pain and mustle pain near future.

At night I watched an old Japanese movie "Kukai" on Smart phone which I happened to know from  my friend's blog today.

I worked at home in the morning and took a half day off in the afternoon.

I headed for Suidobashi to visit my friend from the university.

After that I went to Roppongi and visited two shrines and art exhibition

After that I went to Kayabacho to attend the monthly meetinng. There was a special guest. 

I ate supper and came home around 10:30.

On my way on the train I read a book about the way to study.

It was fine and windy but not so cold.

It is taisetsu (大雪), one of nijushisekki (二十四節気), the24 solar terms. The last one was shosetsu (小雪) on November 22 and the next one is toji (冬至) on December 22.  Taisetsu literally means big snow.

After dinner I watched the Grand Prix Final of Figure Skating 2023 Men's short program on TV. 

After that I stayed tuned the same channel and watched a drama without knowing any thing about it and news program too.

I set up some schedules of December.

It was fine.

After work I had an appointment at Komeda coffee shop. There were new menus and I tried them.

After that I went shopping.

I am scheduling some events of this month.

It was cloudy and cold.

From tonight I started eating new rice. When I bought it last month I did not notice, but the bag had a campaign.

From today ichiryumanbaibi (一粒万倍日), when a grain becomes 10000 times, continues for four days. It is very rare.

At night there was a zoom seminar for three hours and a half or so to welcome a special 2024.

I decided to take an opportunity of free consulting to learn about Sweet Spot Theory.

It was fine. Mt.Fuji looked beautiful on my way to work.

I have had a lower back pain since yesterday. Maybe sitting too long?

There has been something wrong with TV sets since November 30.  I do not understand but I can't see NHK and other channels though I can see NHK E tele.

　

I watched too many programs. They were funny.

As a dish of the year delicious rice ball was selected.

It was fine.

I stayed at home all day long.

There is a night festival in Chichibu on December 3, and I was there last year. 

I was wondering if I should go this year or not.

There is a bus tour and I applied, but it was already full and I was on the waiting list. However I did not get a call from the travel agency. 

It is possible to go there by myself but since I could not book the hotel nearby.  So I decided to stay home this year.

I wore kimono and went to Kimono style Miya to have my hair set, make up, dressed up, and pictures taken.

After that I visited Iseyama Kotai jingu and Narita san temple. Since today is taian (大安) good day for everything, there were many families celebrating shichi go san (753).

After that I had Italian lunch with my friend who runs a real estate company. It's been a long time since we met last. We enjoyed eating and chatting.

I went back to Kimono style Miya and enjoyed trying new kimonos.

In the evening I went to see the movie "Napoleon."

It was fine.

New month has started. December is junigatsu (12月 or 十二月) or shiwasu (師走) in Japanese.

There are something I do on the first day of the month. One of them is to change the plants, rice and salt of the Shinto altar. The other is to change the 5 mounted salt. Another is to visit the nearby shrine. 

There is only one month left.

It was fine.

I worked at home.

At lunch time I went to banks, post office, and supermarket. 

I got the mail order delivery goods.

These are good things working at home.

I heard that my neighbor passed away at the age of 82 on November 12, and his wife has been hospitalized until recently. I visited her for condolence in the evening.

Today is the last day of November. There are something I do on the last day of the month.

One of them is to order Nohana photo album.Every month I choose 20 pictures and make a small photo album which only cost the postage.

It's been 5 years and 6 months I have used Nohana, and there 89 photo albums so far.

The other is to have a zoom meeting with friends who want to practice speaking English to share good things happened this month.

There were four members tonight, and it was so interesting everyone's stories.

It was fine.

I heard that the air conditioning of the dining room would start on December 1, but to my surprise it was working today. 

After work I went to Kurihama to have dinner and shop. 

To my surprise the parking lot introduced the new system. They do not issue the ticket but control by the car number. When we leave we input the 4 digit of the car number, and the machine shows the picture of the car and the parking fare. We have to leave within 15 minutes from checking out.

After coming home there was the re-delivery of the heater I ordered the other day. It was rather small, but strong.

It was fine but windy.

 

Since today is the day of tiger when is a good timing to spend money, after work I went to the ATM to withdraw money and did grocery shopping.

There was a group consulting session after a long time at night. It was a good opportunity to remember what I have learnt two years ago and what I can use for what I have paid.

I would like to plan the event in January using the application.

I received three mochu hagaki (喪中はがき) mourning postcard today. All of them were information of death of somebody's mother.  They were at the age of 85, 88, and 89.

It was fine.

At lunch time there were bowl of persimmons for dessert. They were presents from Chef's sister-in-law’s family in Fukushima. It was very rare to have take home desserts.

When we returned the tray, there were still some persimmons, and he offered me to have more, so I did and gave to my colleagues who do not use the cafeteria.

At dinner I ate one of them. It was so tasty.

I distributed the souvenir from my trip to Nikko which were also delicious.

Today I received a mochu hagaki (喪中はがき) which informed me of the death of my high school classmate who had been suffering from cancer.

It is the fullmoon tonight. I saw the beautiful one.

It was a cold rainy day.

In the morning I attended a zoom seminar about AI from 8:30 to 12:30.

I was going out after that but it was rainy and cold so I decided to stay at home all day long.

In the afternoon I watched the Exhibition of the Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2023/24 NHK Trophy on TV.

In the evening I watched Senshuraku (千秋楽) of the Grand Sumo Wrestling Tournament in Kyushu. Ozeki Kirishima became the champion by 13-2.  This was the second time for him to be the champion this year. Congratulations!

It was fine and cloudy.

There were some places I felt like going, but I decided to stay home all day long and did some clearance.

At night I watched the NHK Trophy Figure Skating. No.1 was Yuma Kagiyama and No.2 was Shoma Uno. Congratulations!

There were some friends whose birthday was today. I sent messages through messenger and email. Some replied soon.

After dinner I ate the sweets I bought at the Kusaki Drive in on Thursday. There are two different red bean tastes for 5 pieces each. I was going to eat them for 5 days but it was tasty and I ate 6 of them at a time.

It was fine.

I worked at home.

I saw the beautiful sunset.

This is another merit of working at home because it is already dark when I finish working and I canot see the sunset these days.

From October the new invoice system has been introduced. I applied for the examination and asked about the invoice. It seems they have not introduced the system. I asked the HR section and knew it would be OK to submit the regular invoice to be reimbursed.

I fell asleep while watching TV at night.

Today is a national holiday called Kinro kansha no hi (勤労感謝の日), Labour Thanksgiving Day.

I got up early to get on the first train to attend one day bus tour to Gunma and Tochigi from Shinjuku.

 

The meeting time was 6:45 am and the bus left at 7 am and came back around 18:45 pm. 

First we visited Omama and walked around the town including the soy sauce factory and enjoyed some Japanese sweets.

Next we took the Trolly train about 45 minutes enjoying the beautiful autumn of Watarase Vally.

 

We stopped at Kusaki lake for a short break and headed for Nikko.

There were two hours and a half free time. At first I was going to see the waterfalls I missed this summer. But after all I visited Nikko Futarasan jinja shrine where I have wanted to visit but missed this summer and Shiraito waterfalls and Takinoo jinja shrine after a long time.

After coming back to Shinjuku, I visited Hanazono Inari jinja shrine for the second cock market. It was so crowded.

I ate the noodle dinner.

I came back before 11pm.

It was a fruitful day.

It was fine and rather warm.

Today is shosetsu (小雪), one of nijushisekki (二十四節気), the 24 solar terms. The last one was ritto (立冬) on November 8, and the next one is taisetsu (大雪) on December 7.

Shosetsu literally means little snow but it was warm like Indian summer though I did not enjoy this warmth.

Today is known as ii fufu no hi (いい夫婦の日), Day of Good couples because of the pronunciation of November 22 which is written as 1122.

It seems there are many wedding anniversaries.

Tomorrow is a national holiday called kinro kansha no hi (勤労感謝の日) Labour Thanksgiving Day.

It was fine.

It was cold at the dining room and I asked about air conditioning. They say it will be possible to use heater from December because it is central heating. 

It is inconvenient, isn't it?

 

I came home straight again so that around 18:10 I was at home and finished dinner before 19:00.

At night I read ebooks, watched YouTube and TV programs but fell asleep.

 

I am not a gamer but was recommended to play the one. I have played it every day for a week or so. I checked the page and found the good information. To know or not is quite a big difference, isn't it?

It was fine.

From 7 AM the reservation site of the Afternoon Tea at the Akasaka State Guest House was open but while inputting the data it became full and closed.

I hope to try next spring when it is warm because it is open air cafeteria.

I came home directly so I ate dinner around 18:30.

When I worked in Tokyo, I usually came home around 20:30.

I have been saving commuting time.

I watched some YouTube videos at night.

These days it is rare to receive postcards or letters besides direct mails. But from the middle of November to December we receive so called mochu hagaki (喪中はがき) to announce of their family loss and excuse of new year's greeting.

I received two of them today.

It was fine.

I went to Yokohama to see a Japanese movie in the morning. It was a heavy movie based on the real story.

After that I went to Sugita and ate lunch and to have my hair cut and permed. This is once in two months refreshing event for me.

I wore Kimono and went to Kimono Style Miya to have my hair set and dressed up.

I went to the Meiji jingu shrine to attend the official visit. There were many wedding couples, families with nexly born babies and children with the age of three, five, and seven.

We got together at 14:00 and the ceremony started a 15:00.

After the event six of us went have something.

I came home around 21:30.

It was rainy in the morning, but became fine and windy in the late afternoon.

At lunch time after eating I stayed in the lounge to watch TV. The main purpose was NHK's 15 minutes morning drama. Before that there was a cooking program. I appreciate the easy delicious cooking.

After work I went grocery shopping.

At night I attended two zoom seminars.

I hope it will be fine tomorrow.

It was fine.

Snow of Mt.Fuji looked thinner, so it must have been warm for a while.

Last night I fell asleep while watching TV. So I watched the missed programs by NHK plus. It is a convenient service and I like it.

Since I came home straight today, I could finish dinner by 8 PM. Until last year I commuted to Tokyo and came home around 8:30 PM. So I have been saving time.

It is one of the good things at the work place now.

I enjoyed cooking and eating tonight.

It was fine and cloudy and cold.

November 15 is known as shichi go san which means 753. It is the day to celebrate the healthy growth of the girls of seven and three years old and boys of five years old.

Before going to work I visited the nearby shrine as a ritual of the 15th of the month.

After work I visited the car dealer to have my car repaired.

After uhat I went grocery shopping.

It was fine and cold.

Mt. Fuji looked so beautiful covered with snow.

I started using a heater.

Today was the first day at work after my trip to Izumo and Hiroshima, and I  distributed some souvenirs. 

I heard some people have never visited Izumo and they want to visit some day.

I felt lucky to have visited there several times.This was the fifth year to have visited both Izumo and Hiroshima.

It was fine but very cold. It was the coldest day. 

They say Kogarashi No.1 blew.

I worked at home.

I saw the beautiful sunset.

It is the new moon tonight. It is a good time to write wishes. What kinds of wishes do you have?

It was fine and cloudy but rather cool.

I checked out the hotel around 9:20 and left the suitcase.

My uncle and aunt came to pick me up, and we headed for the family graveyard.

After that we ate very delicious crab lunch.

This is our once a year event. 

I am glad to hear about the family history.

After that I went to Shukkeien and enjoyed the garden walk and tea ceremony.

After that I visited three shrines.

I took the 19:21 Shinkansen and arrived at 23:05, took 23:14 last train for Miurakaigan, and took a taxi and came home after midnight.

It was fine, cloudy, slightly rained, and became fine again.

I left the hotel after watching the TV drama about Kure Hiroshima.

I went to Miyajima to visit shrines and temples, and climbed up to Mt. Misen.

There were so many people here and there.

Though I could not eat dinner in Miyajima, but ate the speciality of Hiroshima at Miyajimaguchi.

At night I attended a zoom seminar.

It was a nice holiday.

It was a rainy day.

It seemed to have rained during the night.

I got up early and visited Izumo oyashiro　shrine again. It seems l walked 3km.

After having breakfast I wore kimono and went to Miho jinja shrine. After the formal visit it started raining. 

We had lunch and headed for Bukkokuji temple. Talk by the priest was very interesting.

After that we came back to Izumo city, and I took a bus to Hiroshima at 17:00.

I arrived at Hiroshima around 20:19 and tried to eat something but there are long lines here and there and I gave up and checked in the hotel.

I attended a zoom event.

It was another eventful day.

It was cloudy in Hiroshima, but fine in Izumo.

I left Hiroshima at 7:45 AM, arrived at Izumo city around 11:07 AM, and took a train to Izumo taisha shrine.

I went to see the kind person who helped me a few years ago, and went to the accommodation to leave a suitcase and headed for the Inasa beach, the graveyard of the first Kabuki actress, and the great torii gate.

We got together at 14:00 and officially visited the Izumo Oyashiro shrine and visited many shrines inside.

After coming back to the accommodation we had delicious dinner and lectures until late at night.

It was a long day.

It was fine and rather warm.

Today is ritto (立冬) one of nijushisekki (二十四節気), 24 solar terms. The last one was soko (霜降) on October 24, and the next one is shosetsu (小雪) on November 22. Ritto literally means stand winter which means the first day of winter.

I worked at home.

In the evening I walked to the station and got on the earlier train than I scheduled.

After arriving at Shinagawa, I took a Shinkansan bound for Hiroshima. Since my destination is also Hiroshima tonight, I felt lucky.

I arrived at Hiroshima at 23:32 and checked in the hotel before midnight.

It was rainy and windy in the morning,and  became fine later. 

It went up to 27.5 degrees centigrade or so in Tokyo. They say it is the record of 100 years.

After work I went shopping to buy souvenirs. I usually buy cooked tuna because Miura is famous for tuna.

After eating supper I prepared for the trip tomorrow.

I hope weather will be fine during my trip.

It was rather warm today.

It seemed to have rained during night.

I hoped to see the rainbow and I did on my way to work place!

After coming home, I ironed and put haneri (half collar) to juban (underwear) for this week trip.

I listened to the program I missed last night and the one for the preparation for the trip.

It was fine.

I wore kimono and went to Kojimachi to attend an art exhibition and movie watching event.

At lunch place I happened to see my friend from Power Spot Meister and Calendar reading.

The movie is a documentary film which dealt with birth and death. After the movie there was a talk show by the director who has a special ability to feel the message from the unseen world. It was interesting.

After that I went to Kimono Style Miya to have my hair set, dressed up, and pictures taken.

I listened to the radio which my Facebook friend debuted.

In the evening I went to the car dealer to ask repair. To my surprise the person in charge was transferred to another shop. So that I had to go there.

I just asked the estimation. They need to get the parts, so I need to wait for a while. 

I'd better buy the new car before the next mandatory inspection.

I went grocery shopping later.

It was fine.

I got up early, wore kimono and went to Kimono style Miya to have my hair set and dressed up.

I went to Iseyama kotai jingu shrine and Naritasan Yokohama betsuin temple after a long time. Construction was over, and the new shrine was completed.

After that I went to the National Museum of Japanese History in Sakura, Chiba. There was a special exhibition of Onmyoji (陰陽師) which I have been interested in. I did not have enough time to see all so that I hope to visit there again.

My friend and I had sushi dinner.

It was fine. 

Weather forecast said it would go up to 25 degrees centigrade, and it must have been, but inside the building it was so cold that I could not feel the warmth.

Today is the day of Koshi (甲子) which is the first day of 60 days cycle. It is a good time to start something.

So I changed the cover of the smart phone. This is the third time to change it.

From tomorrow we have three day weekend.

A new month has started. November is juichigatsu (11月 or  十一月) or Shimotsuki (霜月) in Japanese.

Shimotsuki literally means frost month.

On the first day of the month there are something I do.

One of them is to change plant, rice, and salt of the inside house shrine called Kamidana (神棚).

The other is to visit the shrine which is called Otsuitachi mairi (お朔日参り).

I cleared the newspaper of October.

On the first of day of the month, I feel like doing something new.

I started using cosmetic cream I got the other day at jbj COLLECTION.

I started eating Kefir yogurt I made using powder I got at jbj COLLECTION.

I listened to the CD of Tango I got at jbj COLLECTION.

If my KDP account is available, I would have published the photobook of Sunlight of October.

Every last night of the month I hold the Bilingual Fortune sharing tea party by zoom.

There were 5 people tonight.

One of them is a Chinese lady whose birthday was in October.

I heard that in China they count their age from when they enter their mother's body. Therefore it is two years older than usual age.

One of them is a flower designer. She said flower arrangement in France is different.

We use the word "flower arrangement" as the translation of "Ikebana."

But flower arrangement of Japan and other countries are different so that we need other words to describe for each arrangement.

It was fine.

Mt. Fuji looked so beautiful covered with snow up to about the 6th station.

The moon in the evening was beautiful too.

After work I went grocery shopping because I felt like making yogurt with Kefir for soy milk which I received yesterday.

I usually do not drink soymilk. But to make yogurt, I needed it. If it is warm, it seems easy to make it. But it is getting cooler these days, so I am not sure if it goes well or not. Let's see.

It was cloudy first and I could see the rainbow after a long time. It became fine.

I wore kimono and went to Yushima tenjin shrine first to see a friend. We had Japanese style Afternoon tea and talked a lot.

We moved to Jimbocho to visit the Art Exhibition of another friend.

Then we moved to Nihonbashi to see the 50th Nihonbashi and Kyobashi festival.

After saying good bye, I went to the Tokyo station to pick up the Shinkansen ticket for next week.

After that I went to Tennozu Isle to see bjb  COLLECTION and enjoyed some performances and exhibitions.

Today is the fullmoon.

I attended a zoom seminar.

It was fine, but rained partially at night too.

It stopped soon, and I saw the beautiful moon.

I prepared Kimono for tomorrow in the afternoon, and went to see a movie at Yokohama with a friend whose birthday was yesterday.

We had a light meal before the movie, and tea after the movie. We talked a lot and laughed a lot.

I gave her my book, and she gave me sweets which was a surprise.

When I came home and opened it, I knew the expiration date is today.

So I am eating now.

It was fine.

I worked at home and stayed at home all day long.

Therefore I saw the beautiful sunset after a while.

Good things of the remote work are to save commuting time and gas, to save time to change and make up, to save for lunch, to concentrate, to receive the delivery, and so on.

In the evening I used Skype to call Hong Kong after a long time because my bank account was temporary suspended. I am glad the money I had there was still available. I need to call again.

At night I pressed summer clothings and cleared, and pressed fall clothings.

I got a surprising message from Kindle Direct Publishing, and I have been thinking why this happened. So I sent an email to them. Let's see what will happen.

After work I went to the gas station to fill up my car. I drove about 560km since I filled up last time. It cost yen 6223. So it ran about 15km/L.

I had dinner outside and tried new dessert.

I got pictures of my kimono style taken on September 30 at Yokohama.

I got a message from a Facebook friend in the morning that she would come to Tokyo from Shikoku and we decided to see in person this weekend. 

I picked up four restaurants which offer the Afternoon Tea and asked her to choose one. 

I booked the one she chose where is my favorite one.

I knew there was the art exhibition of another Facebook friend. We may be able to visit there too.

There was an invitation for the formal visit to Meiji jingu shrine next month. It must be fun.

Today is soko (霜降), one of nijushisekki (二十四節気), 24 solar terms. The last one was kanro (甘露) on October 8 and the next one is ritto (立冬) on November 8.

Soko literally means frost fall. It is the time when dew begins to fall as frost due to cold air.

To my delight my 104th ebook has been No.1 in Japan. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I have reserved Shinkansen, hotels, and bus for my trip next month. 

It is cheaper if you book the round tickets of Shinkansen and the hotel together than buy Shinkansen tickets only. Unfortunately I could not book the best Shinkansen, but I think I can manage to come back.

There was the return tickets discount for 10 percent.

I am looking forward to visiting Izumo next month.

It is the day of Tiger today. It is a good day to do money related things. So I transferred  the travel fee to Izumo.

I happened to see my friend from the graduate school whom I have not seen for a few years on my way to the venue at Ikebukuro.

At the venue I met some staff and teachers from the college I went from February to March.

After the exam I went to Yurakucho to say hello to my friend who were having the fortune telling event.

It was fine.

I talked with my uncle by phone and decided the date to have lunch next month.

In the afternoon I went to the community center to attend a history lecture about the Miura Peninsula at the time when the Commodore Matthew Perry came to Uraga by four black ships on June 3, 1853. It was the 170th anniversary this year.

It's been more than 10 years since I attened the tours visiting the Seven Lucky Gods in Miura and Kamakura by the same lecturer.

He is a local historian and so knowledgeable that I enjoyed the lecure very much.

There was a fireworks festival in Misaki and Jogashima tonight, but I stayed at home, and I only heard the sound.

At night I watched a movie on TV, which I saw at the theater last year. I was not going to see all, but hoped to remember the contents, but after all I watched it to the end.

I got a useful feedback about my 103rd ebook from my ex-colleague. Some friends said they would like to visit Kinkasan after reading my book. I am glad to hear that.

After dinner I studied for the exam. It took a longer time than my schedule.

I sent the present link of the 103rd book to my friends. Some of them read soon and gave me feed back. They were surprised to see the pictures of deers at Kinkazan.

I have known about deers since last year, but was surprised to see monkeys this year. I think they are cute but I heard they are wild and dangerous when I climbed Mitsumine this month.

Maybe I have been very lucky not to see the wild animals so far.

Yesterday I was informed that there would be dessert today, and was looking forward to the lunch time.  Indeed there were various dishes, and I chose Mont Blanc. 

I wonder why they do not offer them every day.

At night I tried the past examinations of 5 years ago. Now I knew the tendency of contents, I must concentrate on my weak points.

There was a grand championship marathon race in the rain. No.1 and No.2 runners were selected for the Paris Olympic game next year.

Today is the new moon. They say annular solar eclipse was observed in the USA. It will be in 2030 when we can observe it in Japan next time.  

At night I attended the zoom meeting about　the ancient calendar appraisal which more than 80 people attended.

It's been 31 years since the EXPO 92 was over. I still remember the day very well.

After 7 months working at the Japan pavilion, I have traveled around Europe for 5 months by myself visiting many places and meeting many people.

It was quite an experience few people could do.

These days the sunset time became earlier and when I go home it is already dark and I can't see the sunset.

I am glad it stopped raining because I had to meet the new students at the station.

October 10 used to be taiiku no hi (体育の日), Physical Education Day to commemorate the opening of the Tokyo Olympic 1964. 　

Since 2000 it became on the second Monday of October and is called Sports Day.

And it is one of the sunny singularities.

I expected to receive a call from the repair service, but it did not.

It was a cold rainy day.

Today is a national holiday called Sports Day, and the last day for the three day weekend.

It was used to be on October 10 to commemorate the opening of the Tokyo Olympic in 1964 and called Taiiku no hi (体育の日) until 1999.

I stayed at home and did home works.

I called to ask the repair for kitchen cooking heater after about a year. But the service center was closed today and we could not fix the date unfortunately.

It was cloudy, rainy, and cool.

Today is kanro (寒露) one of nijushisekki (二十四節気) 24 solar terms. Last one was shubun (秋分) on September 23 and the next one is soko (霜降) on October 24.

Kanro literally means cold dew. It is the time when dew starts freezing by cold air.

I started the day early.

Unfortunately breakfast is served at 6:30 AM but I had to leave around 6:15 AM. 

Menu at the hotel seems better than before.

I went to Shinjuku to attend a bus tour to the Mitsumine jinja okumiya trecking.

We left there before 7AM and came back after 8PM. There were 40 participants. We had 5 hours at the Mitsumine jinja shrine and enjoyed nearly 3 hours hiking.

Weather was perfect and I could take beautiful pictures.

To my delight my 101st ebook "Sunlight September 2023" has been No.1, "Sunlight August 2023" No.2, and "Sunlight October 2022" No.4 in Japan.

I worked at home and took two hours off.

I walked to the station and headed for Nihonbashi to attend a monthly meeting.

After that I came to Ikebukuro to stay overnight to attend the tour from Shinjuku early in the morning tomorrow.

 It was a rainy day, but I saw the beautiful sunset.

My 95th book campaign ended and the 96th campaign started.

On my way home I went to the Komeda coffee shop and tried the new fall menu, after that I went grocery shopping.

Today I got an offer to attend a publish related party in November and checked my paper book titled "Florida report 2006~2008"which I published on my birthday in 2012. To my surprise it cost more than 10 times now.

They say typhoon will come to Kanto area. tomorrow. It is not raining now. I wonder how it will be tomorrow.

It was cool in the morning but became hot in the afternoon and cool again in the evening.

They say there was the first snow on the Mt. Fuji.

I took a picture but it was hard to recognize because of clouds.

It was a rainy day. To my lucky I did not have to use an umbrella. 

It was rather cool.

Today my 100th ebook became No.1 in Japan.I am glad to see some reviews and direct messages.

100 is a landmark.Some asked me if the next target would be 200. It took about four years and a half to come here. First few years I published once a month pace.Until the end of last year I published 60 books. 

I hope to publish 120 books within this year. So I must publish 20 books in three month, that is about 7 books per month.

The result of the health check of August arrived. It's almost the same as before. Different columns were about eyesight. There were both near sight and long sight.

I worked at home today.

Today was the last day of NHK's morning drama, "Ranman" which was really nice.

Today is jugoya (十五夜), the 15th night, and the full moon of the harvest moon. 

Jugoya is the August 15 in the lunar calendar. This is the third year which overlap the 15th night with the fullmoon. But it will be 2030 next time.

To my lucky I saw the beautiful full moon and fireworks festival.

At night I joined the online workshop of Tsutefude by zoom.

They say we have had 90 hot days this summer, and it will last another week or so.

There was a commencement. I joined at the guidance part to receive how to receive a diploma.

It was a nice opportunity to know the facilities of the building where we usually do not use.

It was the first day after summer vacation.

There were lots of emails and paper work, but it was not so bad.

I came back to Tokyo around 5:30 after stopping two parking areas, changed  trains and came home around 8:00.

It was cloudy at first, became fine, and became cloudy again.

I attended the morning ceremony from 7:15 AM, ate breakfast around 8:30,  visited shrines, and attended the annual festival of the Kinkazan koganeyama jinja shrine from 11:00. I think about 100 people attended.

We walked down to the port and took the ferry at 13:45 and arrived at Onagawa port, and took the train at 14:55 and arrived at Matsushima kaigan at 16:12 and visited the Zuiganji temple for 30 minutes.

After saying good bye to my friend I visited Godaido and crossed the bridge to Fukuura island and walked around.

I took a train at 19:12 for Sendai, ate supper, and  had drink while waiting.

I took a night bus at 23:40 bound for Tokyo.

It was fine.

I started the day early.  

I took the 8:02 train and went to Onagawa via Ishinomaki and took a ferry to Kinkazan at 11:00.

I ate grilled scallop and sushi for lunch at Onagawa.

After landing Kinkazan,  I checked in and  climbed up to the summit to visit the shrine. 

The view from there was very nice.

After coming back I took a bath and saw the beautiful sunset from there.

It was a nice day.

It was cloudy at first, but became fine.

It is a national holiday called shubun no hi, autumn equinox day.

I arrived at Sendai around 5:20 AM, left my carry bag at the locker and started sightseeing from 6 AM. I visited some shrine and temples.

I bought a cable, picked up the carry bag, bought sweets and headed for Honshiogama by train.

Though I went to the hotel first to leave the carry bag, it was closed. So I went to have lunch first, and went to the information to get maps. I got a good information and went to hotel to leave my carry bag, and visited the place only open on weekends.

After that I visited the fish market, and took a bus to visit some shrines. I saw the special salt making pots too.

I bought something to eat and drink and had them at the hotel room.

It was a fruitful day.

My summer vacation has started.

In the morning I prepared the 100th ebook.

After lunch I walked to the station and got on the train and went to the beauty salon in Sugita, ate supper, and visited the Kimono shop, and went to Yokohama to see a movie.

After that I headed for Tokyo to get a night bus bound for Sendai. The bus is more comfortable than I thought.

I got a call from the travel agency about the trip I ordered last night. All the questions were answered.

It was fine and hot, and slightly rained in the evening.

I worked at home in the morning.

I took a half day off and went to Ueno to attend the annual festivals of Bentendo, meet my friend, visit the Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Gardens for the first time, and have dinner.

We decided to eat at a Chinese restaurant and it was very delicious at the reasonable price. We enjoyed seeing the menu thinking of the next time when we come to eat "Premium all you can eat course."

Unfortunately cafeteria was closed today. I tried to go to the nearest restaurants, but they only accept the reservation in advance, and I could not try. 

After all I went to the convenience store, and bought salad and dressing, ham and egg donut, and choco cake which cost about the same price at the cafeteria. I realized there was dressing inside salada.

After work I went grocery shopping.

And I went to the Cafe to see someone.

It is a national holiday called Keiro no hi, Respect for the Aged Day. It was used to be on September 15, but it's been on the third Monday of September since 2003.

They say there are 36,230,000 people who are older than 65 years old which occupy 29.1% and the highest ever and the top of the world. The second is Italy 24.5%, and the third is Finland 23.6%.

Among them 12,590,000 are older than 80 years old and it is over 10% of the population in Japan.

And there are 20,050,000 people who are older than 75 years old, and it occupies 16.1%.

In 2022 25.2% of the Aged people, 9,120,000,  were working. The ratio of the Aged of all labour force is 13.6% and they are supportive economic activity. They are engaging in wholesale, trade, service industry, medical care, and welfare.

At night I attended a zoom session about Buddhism. I have known the instructor for a few years as a member of the Self publishing school. But we have never talked nor met. We only know through messenger. 

She has a unique experience. She used to work as an official servant for a long time, but changed her career, and now she has a lisence of a Buddhist priest.

She has published 8 books or so.

I enjoyed talking with her for an hour.

September 9 is Choyo no sekku (重陽の節句), Festival of Chrysanthemum.

There was an online tea party in the morning. So I wore yukata, casual summer kimono and attended with sweets and green tea. It's been a long time since I made green tea with kimono. It was a nice experience.

In the afternoon my brother visited me with a souvenir from his trip from Tohoku.

He was surprised to see my kimono style. I offered sweets and green tea.

After that I watched many recorded TV dramas and movies.

It was a rainy day and a bit cool because of the typhoon No.13.

According to the news there were wany places where suffered damage from the typhoon.

To my fortunate I had planned to work at home from the beginning.

To my unfortunate I had to give up going outside. 

There were two places I wanted to go today and applied for two hours off but I was afraid of traffic problems and stayed at home all day long after all.

Today is hakuro (白露) one of nijushisekki (二十四節気), 24 solar terms. The last one was shosho (処暑) on August 23 and the next one is shubun (秋分) on September　23. Hakuro literally means white dew. It is the time when air becomes cool and dew starts to form.

Today I was surprised to receive a message from an influencer about my ebooks.

It was a rainy day, but I did not have to use an umbrella.

There were lots of work to do at office and I overworked.

I took an online seminar for renewal of the  licenced tour guide tonight. It took about three hours. I should have taken it earlier.

It was fine.

There was a lecture about Invoice System which will be introduced in Japan from October.

There were lots of paperwork to do at work.

I will be busy for a while.

I enjoyed watching some TV programs.at home. Some dramas will be over next week or so.

I booked a free trial session of my facebook friend. I am looking forward to talking with her by online.

It was rainy but I was lucky enough not to use an umbrella.

The other day when I was distributing the souvenir from my trip to Tochigi at office,  my colleague said she would go to Nikko in September.   

Today I had a chance to talk with her and she said she went there and visited Yutaki waterfalls according to my advice.

She was pleased to visit there.

I am glad to hear that.

2023.9.3

It was fine in the daytime, but became rain in the night.

I left home around 10:30 and arrived at the venue before 13:00 and took the examination for two hours.

Since I happened to see my ex-classmate and we went to see the Dragon Art Festa in Yurakucho. 

I happened to see the poster of Planetarium and visited there.  It was a nice place.

We went to a Taiwanese restaurant where I wanted to take her and enjoyed dinner.

It was a nice day.

It was fine and hot.

I stayedat home all day long.

I published the 97th ebook about Sunlight of August this morning. To my glad it's been No.1 in Japan.

The 94th present campaign was over and the 95th campaign has started.

I received the mail ordered goods which I ordered just the day before yesterday.

How convenient the world is becoming!

A new month has started. September is kugatsu (９月  九月) or nagatsu) in Japanese.

It was fine and hot.

It's been 100 years since the Great Kanto Earthquake happened.

I stayed and worked at home.  During lunch time I went to the nearby shrine as the first day ritual and shopping for dinner.

It was fine and hot.

Last day of August.

How was your August?

I enjoyed wearing gorgeous kimono and having pictures taken, fireworks festivals, having Afternoon Tea twice, traveling to Tochigi and Fujiyoshida to visit waterfalls, watching "Indiana Jones" at 109 Cinema Premium Shinjuku, Disney on Ice, and Yoshida Fire Festival.

I published 6 ebooks. They became No.1 in the USA, Netherlands, and Japan.

I've met new people and become friends.

It was a nice month.

It was fine and hot.

There was an annual health check up.

There were something different as usual such as grip strength, electro-cardiogram, and eye sight check.

 

At the waiting time I enjoyed talking with my colleague.

I distributed souvenirs from my trip to the Yoshida Fire Festival. In spite of one of the three most unique festivals in Japan, my colleagues did not know.

So I would like to introduce  many things through Kindle Direct Publishing.

I worked at home.

Today the campaign of 93rd book finished and of 94th started.

It was fine, and slightly rained again.

After having breakfast, my friend and I attended the annual festival of Suzurimizu fudoson.

We called a taxi and went to Ichiku Kubota Art Museum in Lake Kawaguchiko town. It was wonderful. I enjoyed walking the garden and having Japanese Green tea and sweets.

After coming back to Fujisan station, I enjoyed seeing the festival, visiting the Togawa Oshi House, a pilgrim's inn, and visiting shrines.

I stayed at the shrine to see the climax of the festival until 19:30 and came home by using trains and taxi at 1 AM.

It was a nice trip.

2023.8.26

It was fine and rained.

I got up early and walked to the station.

I used the Seishun 18 kippu, JR free local ticket, for 4th day to come to Fujiyoshida to see the Fire Festival.

I arrived at the Kitaguchi Hongu Sengen Jinja around 14:00 and stayed there until 17:00 or so.  During the ceremony it rained heavily but to my lucky I did not get wet.

I met some friends at the festival.

I had dinner with other friends whom I met two months ago at the Tour Conductor Training.

After seeing the last part of the festival I took a taxi and came to Fudoyu hot spring by taxi.

Today I published the 95th ebook.

It was another hot day.

To my glad my 93rd ebook became No.1 in the USA.

On my way home I went grocery shopping.

From tomorrow I will go to Yamanashi to see the Fire Festival. So I planned.

I am looking forward to traveling.

It was another hot day. But it seemed to have rained early morning.

There was a traffic jam this morning and it took longer than usual.

I published the 94th ebook about waterfalls in Nikko. There is one of the three greatest waterfalls in Japan there. I visited four waterfalls. All were fine. There were more so that I hope to visit there again.

The 93rd ebook is on campaign and it's been No.1 in Japan.

I cooked corn rice three or four times this summer. It is easy and delicious.Last summer when I cooked it for the first time, I did not think it was so delicious. But it is.

2023.8.23

It was fine and hot.

Today is shosho (処暑) one of nijushisekki(二十四節気), 24 solar terns. The last one was risshu (立秋) on August 8, and the next one is hakuro (白露) on September 8.

Shosho is the term when heat crosses the pass, but it is still too hot.

There was the final match of high school baseball tournament. I did not watch the games at all. But from the news I heard Keio became a champion. Since I live in Kanagawa, I am glad the representative from Kanagawa became the champion.

It was fine and hot.

It seemed to have rained while I was working at office because my car was wet when I got out of the office in the evening.

It rained at night too.

I am pleased to inform that my 93rd book is released this morning.

After work I went grocery shopping at two places. I used the gift certificates, points, 

 and digital coupons and did not use cash.

It is convenient, isn't it?

At cafeteria they only accept cash. I wish they could accept digital payment.

It was fine and hot.

I worked at home.

Some good things of working at home are to save time for commuting, to save money for lunch, to be comfortable self, and to be able to receive registered mails and deliveries.

Before Covid 19 working at office was as a matter of course.

Now we have a choice.

That is one of the good aspects we have experienced recently.

2023.8.20

It was fine and hot.

I left home around 10:30 AM and went to Minato Mirai to see the Mandala Art Exhibition 2023 "The World of Mandala." 

There were many beautiful art works. I am glad to see a friend there.

After that I went to see a Japanese animation movie "Kimitachi wa do ikiru ka　(The Boy and the Heron)" meaning "How do you live?"

The original book was written in 1937 and I read it when I was a senior of the university. I did not remember the contents, but the story of the movie was quite different from the book.

After that I had Afternoon Tea with a friend who traveled Yaita last week together. I gave her my book, and she gave me freeze dried soup in return.

In the evening we went to the Yokohama Arena to see Disney on Ice 100 Years of Wander. It was very impressive and worth watching. It started at 18:30 and ended at 20:15 with 15 minutes break or so.

 

My friend who came to the show very late bought me boxed meal.

It was a nice day.

2023.8.19

It was fine and hot.

I stayed at home all day long and did housework such as cleaning, washing, and ironing.

I took a nap longer than I planned and missed something I was going to do.

I got a message about TV program in the morning and watched it by NHK plus. It was about Mt. Mitake which my 92nd ebook dealt. What a coincidence!

I watched a TV program at night which was about terrifying stories based on the real episodes. 

2023.8.18

It was fine and hot.

I walked to the station and got on 7:43 train to go to Shinagawa Prince Hotel to support the Reporting session of JSPS Summer program. There were 6 presenters of their fruits of two months research program.   

After that I went to Yotsuya to attend JOI 19th Coordinators' reporting session and reception. There were four presenters of their two-year activities. I missed most part but enjoyed meeting with Alumni.

I really like international exchange program.

From today my 92nd book present campaign started. To my glad it's been No.1 in Japan.

It was fine and hot.

Today is my father's death anniversary. It's been 8 years since he passed away.

After work I went to post office to send my books to the people I met last week in Yaita.I hope they enjoy.

I saw the beautiful sun through clouds.So I decided to park at Tateishi and take pictures.

I matched my favorite TV program “Unbelievable." The second story was very nice.

It was fine and hot.

Today is the last day of my official summer vacation. I stayed at home all day long.

I prepared to send my books and pictures to the people I met in Yaita, Tochigi last weekend.

I published my 92nd ebook about my trip to western part of Tokyo last month.

I think I had a good summer vacation.

Today is the new moon. I usually write wishes but it seems there is the void time soon after the new moon. So it is better to wait until tomorrow morning.

2023.8.15

It was fine.

Today is the 78th anniversary of the end of World War II.

I went to the nearby shrine as a ritual of the 15th of the month.

I took a train to go to Shinjuku to see ''Indiana Jones the Dial of Destiny" at 109 Cinemas Premium Shinjuku which opened in April and I believe the best theater in Japan. 

Usually to see a movie it costs yen 1800, but here it cost yen 4500 with soft drink and pop corn. 

To my lucky I watched the movie by the special stockholder's invitation ticket. It was a nice experience.

After that I headed for Ginza to have afternoon Tea at Laduree which will be closed at the end of the month.

It was a nice holiday.

2023.8.14

It was fine and rain.

I had lunch with my friend at a restaurant in Tsukuihama. It's been five months or so since we met last. There seemed many things had happened to her since then.

She treated me.

After that I went to the grave yard to visit my parents. Price of flowers was increased.

I started preparing for the 92nd ebook.

It was fine, but rained heavily too.

I got up early and left the hotel around 7:30.

I put the carry case in the locker, bought a bus pass and started visiting some waterfalls and shrines in Okunikko.

I am glad to have visited four waterfalls.

On my way home I used the Seishun 18 kippu. It was the third time.

I took trains from Nikko to Kurihama via Utsunomiya and Zushi and came home before 11pm.

Present campaign of the 91st ebook was over.

2023.8.12.

It was fine, cloudy, and rain.

We had a big breakfast and lunch but not dinner.

We left the hotel around 9 am and headed for Oshiraji waterfall.  Unfortunately water was not running so much.

After having lunch we headed for Akataki, Red waterfall, which was very nice.

We visited two more small waterfalls and came back to Yaita to see the marche.

After saying good bye to my friend, we went to Utsunomiya to see the fireworks festival.

After that I came to Nikko by myself. When I got to the station, it was heavily raining.

There was a problem to find the way to enter the room, but anyway I could enter the room.

It was another eventful day.

2023.8.11

It was fine.

Today is a national holiday called Yama no hi, Day of Mountain.

Last year I went to Mount Mitake with my ex-colleague.

This year I came to Yaita, Tochigi to see my friend and visited some waterfalls.

I left home and walked to the station to get on 6:25 train, and arrived at Yaita around 11 am.

We visited Yamagata Aritomo memorial hall and had lunch.

We visited Sawa kannonji temple and enjoyed seeing lotus flowers.

We took a hot spring and went to have dinner.

My 91st book became No.1 in the USA.

It was a nice day.

It was fine but rained too.

After work I went to the ATM to withdraw money for the trip from tomorrow, and shopping.

 

Tomorrow is a national holiday called Yama no hi, Day of Mountain. From Monday to Wednesday our office will be closed due to summer vacation. So I have six days off.

First three days I will travel to Tochigi to visit my friend and waterfalls. It must be fun.

At night there was a NHK's TV drama which was shot in Yokosuka. It was the story of War orphans in 1947.

2023.8.9

It was cloudy, became rain heavily, and became fine later.

'Today is the 78th anniversary of the Atomic Bomb Dropped iin Nagasaki. Usually there is a big ceremony outside but this year it was held inside in small sizes because of the Typhoon No.6.

There was a meeting for the preparation next week.

I planned the schedule of this weekend.

 

I hope it will be fine when I travel.

2023.8.8

It was fine and hot during the daytime, but rained heavily at night.

Today is risshu (立秋) one of the nijushisekki, the 24 solar terms. The last one was taisho (大暑) on July 23, and the next one is shosho (処暑) on August 23.

Risshu literally means stand fall, it is the start of fall.

So from today greeting becomes "Zansho omimai moshiagemasu (残暑お見舞申し上げます)" instead of " Shochu omimai moshiage masu (書中お見舞申し上げます)" though it's been still too hot.

Today present campaign of the 90th e-book was over and it became No.1 in the USA and Japan and No.2 in Australia.

 

From this evening present campaign of thd 91st e-book has started.  To my glad it became No.1 in Japan.

It was fine and very hot.

I worked at home and took 3 hours off.

I went to Jimbocho to see the Tsutefude Exhibition first.

Then I went to Tamachi to attend a monthly meeting.

After that my friend and I went to have dinner near the station. Unfortunately there was no dessert there.

It was fine and rainy.

I stayed at home all day long.

I made the 91st ebook about sunlight of July 2023.

At night I attended a zoom session.

I started planning the next trip for this weekend.

It was fine and hot.

I wore kimono and headed for Kimono style Miya to have my hair set, make up, dressed up, and pictures taken. 

I tried the Ooku style. It was the first experience for them too.

I changed to the kimono and had hair set, dressed and had pictures taken again.

I visited Iseyama Kotai jingu shrine and Naritasan temple as usual.

I headed for Yokohama to see the movie " Mission Impossible."

After that I went to Enoshima to see the fireworks festival. First I got together with my friend and had dinner.

Next we walked to the beach. At first we saw the fireworks far away, but later we saw the beautiful fireworks nearby.

Since there was no proper place to have something, and we decided to go to Kamakura and had tea.

After that when we arrived at the Kamakura station, we found out that trains were stopped because of the accident...

2023.8.4

It was fine and hot.

Today is one of the most powerful days of the year. It is a combination of Tenshabi (天赦日), the day heaven forgives everything, Ichiryu manbaibi (一粒万倍日), when one grain becomes 10000 times, and Taian (大安), good day for everything.

After work I went grocery shopping.

 

There was a sad news. I was looking forward to seeing the fireworks festival in Miurakaigan Beach next week after four years, but it was canceled due to the bad weather anticipated though it is not bad weather yet.

I watched a movie "Up" after a long time  though I usually do not watch animation movie.

It was fine and hot.

My 89th ebook became No.1 in the USA and Japan.

The 90th present campaign has started. To my glad it is No.1 in Japan.

This year I hope to publish up to 120 books. Almost every week I need to publish at least one book from now on.

I hope to introduce beautiful Japan.

It was fine and hot.

Big typhoon No.6 hit Okinawa. We knew it from the news, but we were not aware of. When we got an email from the counter part in Okinawa mentioning about it, we realized how much damages they got.

On my way home I filled up my car after running 567km for the first time.

I had a special dessert tonight which I made using the milk pack last night.

Tonight is the fullmoon. There are twice in August this year.

2023.8.1

A new month has started. August is hachigatsu (８月 or 八月) or hazuki (葉月) in Japanese.

It was fine in the morning, but became rain heavily in the afternoon. At night I saw the beautiful moon.

I worked at home today. During lunch time I went to the nearby shrine as a ritual of the first day of the month, and went grocery shopping.

To my glad my 89th ebook became No.1 in the United States.

I attended a monthly zoom study meeting.

It was fine and hot,

I worked at home in the morning and took a half day off in the afternoon.

I walked to the station and headed for Kimono Style Miya to have my hair set and dressed up.

About 40 ladies wearing Kimono were invited to the Houseboat called Yakatabune to cruise, eat dinner and watch "Sky Symphony in Yokohama."

We  really enjoyed watching beautiful fireworks for 30 minutes.

I published the 90th ebook.To my glad it became No. 1 in Japan.

It was fine and very hot.

Today is doyo no ushi no hi,  midsummer day of ox. From Edo era it is recommended to eat eel to get stamina on this day.

I stayed at home.

In the afternoon I watched a quiz program which my ex-colleagues participated. I am glad to see him became a winner again.

At night I held a monthly zoM meeting of sharing good things happened this month. It was the 23rd meeting.

2023.7.29

It was fine and hot.

I stayed home during the daytime, did laundry, iron, cleaning, and prepared the kimono for next week.

Present campaign of the 89th ebook has started. 

To my glad it is No.1 in Japan.

There was the fireworks festival at the Sumida River after four years.

While I was watching the festival on TV, I heard the sound of fireworks nearby. To my lucky I could watch some of them.

It was a nice weekend to relax.

2023.7.28

It was fine and hot.

It's been very hot nearly body temperature these days. Even at night it is more than 25 degrees  centigrade. They say it is the hottest July around the world.

After work I went to the post office to send the registered mail. It is appreciated that the window is open until 7 PM though the regular office hour is until 5 PM.

For the past three nights I ate rice cake which I got at the night Kagura performance last Saturday and Sunday.

Tonight I listened to the webinar.

2023.7.27

It was fine and hot.

I published the 89th ebook today. It is an e-photobook about two waterfalls in Hinohara village in Tokyo where I visited last Saturday. I tried Takigyo, perform cold water ablutions bx a fall for the first time.

Since my colleague is taking a summer vacation, I did the things what she is in charge.

After work I went to post office to pay the examinatinon fee.

They say the lion's gate opened yesterday and will close on August 12. It is the time that the strong energy falls from the universe.

2023.7.25

It was fine and hot. 

Rainy season is over.

It is said that this summer will be super hot.

There was a fireworks festival in Hayama　from 7:30 to 8:10 PM. Fireworks went up from the three places.

I saw the fireworks festival from the park near the office. There were many families with dogs.

Finale was good as always.

The result of skin check came. My skin was 5 years younger than my real age, but it lacks moisture.

2023.7.24

It was fine and hot.

I took a day off.

I got up earlier than I was plannimng. So I went to see the flower (Renge shoma) and visit a shrine.

From 7 am we attended a morning ceremony at the shrine called Nikkusai. We are surprised to know that the person in charge was the son of the guesthouse we stayed for two nights.

After breakfast I left there earlier than others to get on the 9:00 cable car. I met an ex-colleague at a bakerly in Kabe. Time flied.

After that I went to Shinjuku to get a consulting about improving English ability.

I went to Sugita to go to a beauty salon to have my hair cut and perm.

I came home around 6:30 pm.

It was a fruitful day.

2023.7.23

It was fine and hot.

We had a volumy breakfast. 

After that I went to the visitor center to get maps, and we went hiking to Okunoin first. 

Two of us went back from there and two of us continued.

I went to the summit of three mountains. I was surprised to see the shrine at Mt.Otake.

After that we visited two waterfalls, Ayahiro waterfall and Nanayo waterfall.

We started hiking around 10:30 and came back around 18:30.

After having dinner I took a bath.

At night we went to see the Night Kagura performance.

After that we attended a zoom meeting about the Buddhism image.

It was a fruitful day.
