2016.2.18

It was fine and cold.

There was an article about "the 29th Salaried man's senryu contest" in today's newspaper.
Senryu (川柳) is one of the shortest houmorous verses in three lines of five, seven, five syllables.

As the shortest poem haiku (俳句) is very famous, which is also composed of in three lines of five, seven, five syllables.
Haiku needs a word which shows the season.

But senryu does not.  And senryu is very witty, cynical, and interesting.

There were 39551 entries and the best 100 were chosen and will be voted by March 18 by Internet and top 10 will be announced at the end of March.
