Today is furikae kyujitsu (振替休日), transferred holiday because a national holiday fell on Sunday. It was very fine but the wind was cool.
The declaration of blooming the cherry blossoms was announced. Spring will be here soon.
There are graduation ceremonies in March. Usually high school graduation ceremony is held around beginning of March , primary school and junior high school around middle of March, and college and university around the end of March.
This week will be the peak for college and university graduation ceremony. Women usually wear hakama (袴), traditional kimono style. In the evening there is a thanksgiving party called shaon kai (謝恩会).
The full-blooming of cherry blossoms is picturesque on this special occasion.
