It was cloudy.
November 15 is known as Shichi go san (七五三), 753. It is a day to celebrate children's healthy growth at the age of three and seven for girls and five for boys. Children of these age are dressed with beautiful kimono and families with those children visit the shrine or temple to pray for their healthy growth.
For this day there is a special candy called Chitose ame (千歳飴) which is a very long stick shape candy.
These days many families with formal wear tend to visit shrines not only on Nov. 15 but also near weekend from Nov. 15.
I saw the one last Sunday.
I still have pictures of my Shichigosan visiting at Tsurugaoka Hachinangu (鶴岡八幡宮) in Kamakura (鎌倉).
