3月9日(sangatsu kokonoka): March 9

I have just finished reading a book I was given recently by the author. It is a story about a Japanese mother and her half-Korean children. One of them was separated from her mother at the war time. Both of them tried to see each other, but could not. She was from Yokosuka where I was from too.
Japanese children left in China at war time are called chugoku zanryu koji (中国残留孤児), and very famous especially in the 1980's because many of them came to Japan to find their families.
But children left in North Korea during war time are hardly known.
It was a good book to know about Japan-Korean relationship, a woman's life, Korean way of thinking and living, and so on.
