May 10 is my mother's death anniversary. Death anniversary is mei nichi (命日) in Japanese. Mei (命) means life, nichi (日) means day. Though it is a day of death, the name is a day of life. Mei (命) is also read as inochi (いのち), which means life.
I want to introduce one more word. That is seizen (生前). Sei (生) means to be born, and zen (前) means before. So the letters themselves mean before being born, but the actual meaning is while one was still alive. That is it is talking about the dead person .
Don't you think it is interesting?
Anyway it's been 8 years since my mother passed away suddenly from my life.
