2016.4.8

It was fine and warm today.

April 8 is known as hana matsuri (花まつり) literally flower festival, or kanbutsue (灌仏会).
It is a celebration of Buddha's birthday in Japan. The reason why I say "in Japan" is when I went to Nepal, they said they have a different day for Buddha's birthday.
There is a custom at Buddhist temples to water amacha (甘茶) sweet tea to a little statue of Buddha.
I have done it before at the Sensoji (浅草寺) temple in Asakusa.
