清明(seimei)

Today is seimei (清明), one of nijyushisekki (二十四節気), the 24 solar terms. The last one was shunbun (春分) on March 20 and the next one is kokuu (穀雨) on April 20. Seimei (清明) literally means clear and bright. It is the season of bright spring.

There was an opening ceremony (開校記念式典:kaiko kinen shikiten) and an entrance ceremony (入学式:nyugaku shiki) of the Yokohama Science Frontier High School which opened today. Many schools will have entrance ceremonies this week, and many students will start the new lives at the new schools.
Good luck!
