The first day of working this year. We call it shigoto hajime (仕事始め).
There is a shrine near our office so I went there for the first visit (hatsumode: 初詣) at the lunch time. It used to be a big precincts and when there happened the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11 last year we evacuated there. But last autumn the construction started and the shrine was moved at the corner. It was sad to see the change.
Then my colleague and I had lunch at a small cafe. We were very lucky to find the seat.
