2012.1.18

It is the time of the Akutagawa (芥川) Prize and Naoki(直木) Prize which are the most prestigious Japanese literature awards. They are selected twice a year.
This year for the 146th prize "Tomogui (共喰い): Cannibalism" by Mr. Shinya Tanaka (田中慎弥) 39 years old and "Dokeshi no cho (道化師の蝶): Clown Butterfly" by Mr. To Enjo (円城塔), 39 years old were selected as Akutagawa Prize.
Naoki Prize will be given to "Higurashi no ki (蜩ノ記): Record of higurashi cicada" by Mr. Rin Hamuro (葉室麟), 60 years old.
Both Mr. Tanaka and Mr. Hamuro received the prizes after 5th nomination. They will get one million yen for the additional prize.
