2015.6.30

It was fine but I am not fine.

In the morning my body temperature was 39.4 degrees centigrade. And I felt cold and had coughs. So I decided to take a day off.
While antifebrile is effective, I am OK. But after 6 hours or so I have high fever again.

Japanese soul food is okayu (お粥), porridge. So I ate it.

I hope I will be fine soon.

2015.6.29

It was fine and hot.

But I was sick and felt cold.  In the early morning my temperature was 38.4 degrees centigrade, I had a headache, coughs, and I wanted take a day off, but there were something to do at the office so I went.
We have a clinic in our school so I visited the doctor. To make sure I had a flu test. It was negative for now.
At that time it was 38.0. After taking medicines it went down to 37.7.

I think I got a summer cold.

Now  I feel cold and tired again.
I hope I will get well soon.

2015.6.28

It was fine in the daytime but started raining in the evening.

There were two visitors in the morning.

I cleaned outside.  I packed about six bags for fallen leaves.
I washed father's sweaters.
I went to hospital to see my father in the evening.
After that I went grocery shopping.

Though I took a nap in the afternoon, I feel tired and sick.

2015.6.27

It was cloudy.
I am glad it did not rain.

I wore kimono to attend luncheon at a crab restaurant in Yokohama.
Depends on season we wore different type of kimono. At this time of the year it is called hitoe(単).  As underwear I wore asajuban (麻襦袢) which is made of hemp.  It is washable at home.
Since it is a rainy season,  I wore rain coat and rain shoes to avoid rain, but I did not have to wear them.

At luncheon I was with two 70s ladies and a 20s woman and heard about the lives of during and after the World War II.

After that I went to Kamakura(鎌倉) where is a very famous historical place back to 12th century.
I went to Tsurugaoka hachimangu (鶴岡八幡宮) shrine, and happened to see the newly wed couple.
The approach street called Komachidoori (小町通) was full of people.  The other approachway called Dankazura (段葛) was closed for construction.

Then I came to see my father at hospital. His room is on the third floor and we can see Oshima (大島) and Mt. Fuji (富士山) from his room.
The sunset was really beautiful.

2015.6.26

It was cloudy in the morning but rained heavily in the afternoon.

Since it is the rainy season now, we have to accept rain.

But there is a luncheon I want to attend wearing kimono so that I hope it won't rain tommorrow.

2015.6.25

It was fine and hot.

When do you feel the earth is moving?

I feel when I see the difference of the place of sun rise or sun set, shape of the moon, and the distance of the stars from the moon.
The other day when it was summer solstice, the sun rised from between the couple rocks in Futamigaura in Mie. It's been four years since it was fine and the beautiful sunrise was obseved last.
I hope to see it someday.

2015.6.24

It was fine and hot.

Women's soccer team Nadeshiko Japan won the game against Holland and proceeded to best 8 at FIFA World Cup 2015.

2015.6.23

It was cloudy.

There was the 70th anniversary memorial service for Okinawa battle dead.
The war survivals are getting older and it will be very difficult for us to hear their terrible experiences directly in a few years.

We have had a peaceful society without war for 70 years which we are proud of.  However these days there is a movement of changing the constitution articles which I feel afraid of.
The regular Diet period was extended for 95 days to discuss yesterday which was the longest in history.

There may be something we'd better accept according to the change of society. However I hope to keep the peace constitution forever.

2015.6.22

It was cloudy, partially fine, and rather hot.

Today is geshi(夏至), one of nijyushisekki  (二十四節季), the 24 solar terms.
The last one was boshu(芒種) on June 6, and the next one is shosho (小暑) on July 7.

Geshi literally means "summer reach," it is summer solstice in English.  It is the day when daytime is the longest and nighttime is the shortest in a year.

The I went grocery shoppings in the evening.

2015.6.20

It was fine.

Since I left my car at the station parking lot last night, I walked there to get it and visited my father at the hospital in the morning. He was almost sleeping. I hope he will get well soon.

Then I went to Akasaka to attend a followup seminar for th Golden Life Program 2015 which was held last month.
I met some of the participants who attended GLP.  The seminar started at 1pm and ended at 7pm. It was a rather long one but I enjoyed the pair work and group works.

After that I went to a kimono shop to pick up something.

2015.6.19

It was a rainy day.

Today was the last day of one of the co-workers.
After work I went to eat out for dinner at her brother's Izakaya (居酒屋),  Japanese style bar & dining place with four coworkers. We enjoyed tasty foods and Japanese sake.
It was rather far and I missed the last train to my station.

TGIF

Have a nice weekend!

2015.6.18

It was cloudy and rainy.

This morning I rushed to the station to get 6:46 train. I was in time but there was no seat available, so I gave up and took about 10 minutes later one.  It takes about 90  minutes, from the beginning if stand, I do not know how long I need to be standing.

2015.6.17

It was a rainy day.

I went to hospital in Yokosuka to hear the result of examination my father took last week on my way to work.

A new law was established.  The right to vote has been given to adults which is 20 years old, but from next year more than 18 years old people can vote.  It's been 70 years since the law was made. From this change there might be many changes regarding law.

I am not sure this is good or bad.

How old is adult in your country ?

2015.6.16

It was cloudy.

In the afternoon I had once a year dental checkup. Dentist was a female. This was the first time for me to see woman dentist.   I have never seen male dental hygienists.
Have you seen them?

After the dental check,  I have tartar removed from my lower front teeth.  She recommended me to go to a dentist once or twice in a year to have tartar removed.

They gave me toothbrush,  toothpaste, and interdental brush.

2015.6.15

It was fine.

I went to a shrine before going to work.

Every first day and 15th day we clean around the shrine in turn.  There are four blocks. And now is our block's turn.  Our block consists of eight groups. Today the 6th group was in charge and the notebook and the plate were brought to my house because we are the representative of the 7th group. We will clean around the vicinity of the shrine on July 1 if it is not raining.

2015.6.14

5It was a rainy day but I did not use the umbrella. In the evening the sunset was very beautiful with pink sky.

I went to Ochanomizu to attend a million seller writer, Ken Honda's one day seminar. I have attened his seminar many times, but this was the first time to pay. It was a rather expensive one for the regular price, but I was very lucky to get the discount ticket by applying for writing the impression regarding his first book, "The Millionaire 's Philosophy for A Happy Life." It was published 12 years ago.  I read it about six years ago.
They provided the lunch box of a famous restaurant, and beverage, snacks, and fruits.

I bought his two books.  One of them has not been sold at the bookstore yet. And I got his autographs.

I was afraid of falling asleep because of sleeplessness and tiredness, but his talk was very interesting and had some group sharings, I enjoyed it a lot.

To my surprise there were many people whose lives changed drastically during the past few years since they have met Mr. Ken Honda.

I am looking forward to my future life.

2015.6.13

It was fine.

I went to see my father at the hospital in the morning.

In the afternoon I went to see my friend in Yokohama to give my books, attend a monthly seminar, visit a shrine, and get massage.

At night I attended a farewell party for the ex-chief of the local community.
It was a busy day.

2015.6.12

It was a rainy day.

It's been a week since I went to see an eye doctor. So I went there at lunch time around 12:20, but unfortunately the reception was open until 12:00.
So I needed to visit there later again.
Since the eye drops were not so effective than he expected, he prescribed stronger eye drops.
I will go to see him again next week.

At night I went to see my father for 10 minutes or so. He has moved to a private room.

I hope he will get better soon.

2015.6.11

It was fine in the daytime and rain at night as weather forecast said.

My office hour is from 10am to 6pm, and I usually come home after 8:30pm.
Since meeting time at the hospital is until 8pm, I decided to start early to come back early to see my father at night.
Usually I need to wait for another train which starts from Shinagawa to sit, but now to my lucky I could get on and sit without waiting for another train.

2015.6.10

It was a long day.

I took a care leave today to take my father to the hospital for half a year examination.

Since the appointment was in the afternoon, we went to my mother's graveyard in the morning after a long interval.  We usually go there during equinox weeks, near the death anniversary (May 10), obon, and year end or new year.  However I have been out of town during spring equinox week and the golden week, we could not visit, so we went there this morning.  It happens to be the death day of the month (tsukimeinichi: 月命日 ) because my mother died on May 10 and it is June 10 today.
After that we went out for lunch and shopping.
Then we went to hospital in Yokosuka.  It took about one hour to get there by car.  He needed to undergo ultrasound examination, and the result will be informed next week.
On our way back, I went grocery shopping at two stores and stopped at city office branch.
We came home around 4 pm.

I cooked dinner after a long time.
While eating, my father became in bad condition.  And I called an ambulance.  I felt very long until they arrived and took him to the hospital.  He was diagnosed as aspiration pneumonitis and had to enter the hospital for two weeks or so.  So I needed to come home again to bring the necessary goods to him.

One of the ambulance crews was my student, and one of the nurses was also my student when I was a teacher at a junior high school in this city.

I came home around 10:40 pm.

I hope he will get well soon.

2015.6.9

It was a rainy day.  But now the sky looks very beautiful with white clouds with blue sky and pink sunset.

They say the rainy season has begun in the Kanto area since yesterday. It is the same as average year and three days later than last year.
Rainy season in Japanese is tsuyu (梅雨) or baiu (梅雨), literally means plum rain.
And entering rainy season is tsuyuiri(梅雨入り) or nyubai (入梅).
It will last for a month or a month and a half.

2015.6.8

It was cloudy and became rainy in the afternoon.

The rainy season will start soon.

Sunday, June 7, 2015

2015.6.7

It was fine and hot.

I went to Kimono Style Miya to be a kimono model.  Today I wore two kimonos.  One is a summer kimono called  Sha (紗).
It is very light and transperant.
The other is komon (小紋), small patterns.

I think the beautician and makeup artists are artists and magician who make women feel happy.

I came back wearing kimono and attended the local representative meeting at night.

2015.6.6

It was cloudy in the morning but became rainy in the afternoon.

I went to Shinjuku to attend Morinda's monthly meeting.
Usually I measure TruAGE after the meeting but today they were measuring in front of the Noni cafe, therefore I measured before the meeting.  I really love Morinda products which make and keep me healthy.  Since last August they started the point system.  And today I used it for the first time. 10 months' points were changed to A.G.E. THERAPY GEL , Defy Triple Action Toner, portable Noni juice packs, and Noni Enzyme which are about yen 20000 values.
Morinda is a really nice company. I hope all of the people related to me to know the company and get their blessings and live healthier, younger, longer, wealthier, and happier.
Please check the following site:

After that I had lunch at a restaurant which was celebrating 30th anniversary.

Then I headed for Yokohama to visit my friend's mother's art exhibition. They offered the visitors afternoon tea and home-made cake with beautiful cups.
I met my friend from Washington State University and her mother and daughter.  We enjoyed the reunion and taking pictures.

There was a special bazar for the anniversary of opening Yokohama Port near the Yokohama baseball studium on my way to the next stop, Itsukushima shrine.

And I went to a beauty shop to have my hair cut. They sent me a birthday card with head spa present the other day. So I got a special treatment today.

Then I went to a kimono shop to pick up something.

It was a nice day.

Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you.

2015.6.5

It was cloudy in the morning but started raining in the afternoon and rather cool.

There has been something wrong with my left eye since Tuesday and I decided to see an eye doctor. Since this was the very first time to go there they checked many things including the eye sight. Because of these examinations, it cost yen 1850 and two eye drops for yen 510. I need to apply these for four times a day for a week and go to see him again after a week.

After I came back to my station, I went shopping and filling my car up.

So I had a busy day.

2015.6.4

It was fine. The moon was so beautiful.

June 4 is known as "mushiba yobo dei(虫歯予防デー)" Cavity Prevention Day.
There are teeth prevention events such as dental checks.

There is a movement called 8020(hachi maru ni maru) which means to keep your own 20 teeth at the age of 80.

Since the healthy body is made by what you eat, to have good teeth is very impotant.

2015.6.3

It was a rainy day.

From Okinawa to Kinki area it has set in the raining season. Rainy season is tsuyu (梅雨) in Japanese.

2015.6.2

It was cloudy but hot today.

I have a good news.

Last night after coming back home when I was checking the Facebook, I found my friend shared the page of Expo 2005 Anthology Making Committee and knew that my essay was selected.  It will be posted at the Expo 2005 memorial park during the summer. Since this is the 10th anniversary of Expo 2005, volunteer staffs will make a collection of memorial essays,  "Memory of Story for 10000 people."
There are five essays selected this time, and my ex-colleague's essay was also chosen.

People only remember what is impressive for them.  Even if we had spent time together for half year, experiences differ, so as memories.  So I hope many people will apply for this event and share their experiences to make a nice anthology.

2015.6.1

It was fine.

I took a day off today.

I started early this morning to get a 7 am bus for Togakushi (戸隠) where is a secred place and known as Power Spots.
It takes about one hour to go there and costs yen 1350.  There are five shrines there, namely, Okusha (奥社). Kuzuryusaha (九頭龍社), Chusha (中社), Hinomikosha (火之御子社), and Hokosha (宝光社).

From the bus terminal to Okusha it is about 2km.
I visited those shrines on foot and came back to the Nagano station around 12:30.
The weather was fine and the view from there was so nice.
Especially I like the main approach to Okusha where there are Japanese ceder trees for both sides, and the view from the Okusha shrine office, and the waterfall at Chusha.

I have been to Togakushi shrines for a few times, but they were always group tours by bus.

This time I went there alone and walked and walked.
My step counter recorded  more than 20000 steps.

I took a bus at 1:30 pm and arrived at Shinjuku before 6 pm stopping at two service areas for the rest.  There were monitors in front of each seat and I could watch a movie and TV program.

It was a nice trip.
