It was very warm and rainy this morning, but it became very cold.
Today is hoppo ryodo no hi (北方領土の日), the Day of the Northern Territories.
The Northern Territories are Etorofu (択捉) Island, Kunashiri (国後) Island, Shikotan (色丹) Island, and Habomai (歯舞) Islands which are also known as the Kuril Islands.
They are occupied by Russia but are claimed by Japan.
