There was the Tokyo Marathon 2012.
More than 36,000 people registered for the entry, and 34,674 people could finish running. It started at 9:10 AM and closed after 7 hours.
The winner was Mr. Michael Kipyego from Kenya and the record was 2 hours 7 minutes 37 seconds. And the second was Mr. Arata Fujiwara (藤原新), 30 years old Japanese professional runner. His record was 2 hours 7 minutes 48 seconds.
There were about 10,000 volunteers.
My friend from university has also participated in and completed! Congratulations!!
