2012.2.3

Today is setsubun (節分). It literally means season divide. That is there are 4 setsubun in a year. But it usually means the day before the beginning of spring.
On this day we scatter parched beans to drive out bad luck by saying "oni wa soto, fuku wa uchi (鬼は外、福は内)" meaning devils out fortunes in. After that we eat the same number of beans as our own age to wish our good health.
Recently there is a trend of eating a long big roll sushi called "eho maki (恵方巻)" Eho means the direction where there is a god of the year. We eat it wishing our dream.
