8月5日(hachigatsu itsuka): August 5

TGIF!

In Japan we do not have such a phrase, but nowadays most people work from Monday to Friday, many people feel happy when Friday comes. Friday is kinyobi (金曜日). So it was used to called hanakin (花金), literally flower money, meaning to have fun on Friday. It was used from 1985 but after the bursting of the bubble economy, this became obsolete word.

Have a nice weekend! In Japanese yoi shumatsu wo(よい週末を)!
