A new month has begun. July is shichigatsu (七月) in Japanese. The old name is fuzuki or fumizuki(文月). In Kanji character it means letter month.
July 1 is known as the opening of Mt. Fuji (富士), yamabiraki (山開き), literally mountain opening.
I have climbed the Mt. Fuji once when I was a senior at the university. It was cold there because the height is 3,776 meters high.
