Today is shoman(小満), one of nijushisekki(二十四節気), the 24 solar terms. The last one was rikka (立夏) on May 5 and the next one is boshu (芒種) on June 5.
Shoman literally means small full. It is a time everything gradually grows and reach at a certain level.

As news of today they say the 102nd high school baseball tournament in summer is canceled after the spring event called senbatsu(選抜) because of COVID-19. This is the first thing after the World War II. The case of both cancellation is the first in history.
