A new month has started. September is kugatsu (九月) in Japanese. The old name is nagatsuki (長月), literally long month.
September 1 is known as bosai no hi (防災の日), Day of Disaster Prevention. This is established in 1960 after the Great Kanto Earthquake happened on September 1, 1923.
There was the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11 this year. Therefore evacuation training was practiced in so many places this year.
There is a saying, sonae areba urei nashi (備えあれば憂いなし), "Forewarned is forearmed." or "Providing is preventing."
