2014.1.23

It was fine.

There are many four-character idioms in Japanese. Today there is an announcement of the four-character idiom of the year.  Usually something of the year is published at the end of the year, but this one is published at the beginning of the year to wish the dream come true.
This year's four character idiom is "四海兄弟(Shikai keitei)" from Analects of the Confucius.  It literally means four ocean brothers but actually means that if you communicate people with heart and politeness, everyone around the world becomes like brothers. There are many disputes here and there, therefore this idiom was chosen as a lesson to learn.
