2026.7.13

 It was rainy and cloudy.

Another busy week has started.  I overworked till 9:20PM or so and came home around 11:30 PM. I had to stand in the train for one hour or so on my way back.

Every day something happens and I have to deal with those problems, and don' have time to think about the improvement of future projects.

I got a souvenir of Hokkaido from my colleague, which I have never tasted before. I am looking forward to having it near future.

I got some mails today. One of them was discounted travel invitation. It was attractive but I have visited most places, and the closest meeting spot is only for weekdays. Therefore, I have to give up.

2023.11.14

It was fine and cold.

Mt. Fuji looked so beautiful covered with snow.

I started using a heater.

Today was the first day at work after my trip to Izumo and Hiroshima, and I  distributed some souvenirs.
I heard some people have never visited Izumo and they want to visit some day.

I felt lucky to have visited there several times. This was the fifth year to have visited both Izumo and Hiroshima.

2023.11.7

It was rainy and windy in the morning, and  became fine later.

It went up to 27.5 degrees centigrade or so in Tokyo. They say it is the record of 100 years.

After work I went shopping to buy souvenirs. I usually buy cooked tuna because Miura is famous for tuna.

After eating supper I prepared for the trip tomorrow.

I hope weather will be fine during my trip.

2017.1.24

It was fine and cold.

The other day when I went to Misaki I bought preserved fish  foods. There were three different tastes, so called Kasu zuke (粕漬け), Miso zuke (味噌漬け), and Saikyo zuke (西京漬け).
Kasu zuke is tuna pickled in sake lees, Miso zuke is tuna pickled in miso, and Saikyo zuke is Spanish mackerel pickled in Saikyo miso which is white sweet miso eaten in Kyoto.
For the last three nights I ate one of each by having baked in foil.
Kasu zuke was more salty than I thought.
I liked Saikyo zuke best.

2016.6.14

It was fine today.

I am working at an International Liaison Office. Therefore there are many chances to know foreign people and their  culture.
My colleague recently took care of a delegation from Thailand and it seems they brought some souvenirs. She was kind enough to share some sweets with us. One of them was durian jelly which I have never seen before. It looked like a fish sausage in a plastic tube and tastes like burnt sweet potato with strong smell.
The other was durian chip which was also new to me.

After work I  visited the Fuji Film Square after a while.

2016.5.11

It rained in the morning.
It was windy today.

During the golden week, many people traveled somewhere.  Therefore we get many sweets these days.  Some went abroad, others traveled in Japan.
Today's sweets was a piece of cookie made from rice powder with wheat and the pressed flower was decorated on the top. I have never seen the edible pressed flower. I got some small chocolates which looked like candies. They were nice.

2012.10.17

The first working day after the late summer vacation.  I brought some souvenirs to my colleagues.  At lunch time I gave 5 colleagues small calendars of 2013.  I knew two of them have strong tastes to horses and cats and it was easy to choose the one for them.  I chose three different designs for others.  It was very interesting to see their reaction.
After lunch I prepared other souvenirs for all the colleagues who are about 50 people.  They were chocolate candies in the plastic jack-o'-lantern.  Before I went to the USA, I made up my mind to buy them for souvenirs for my colleagues because October 31 is Halloween.  Sweets make people happy, and the jack-'o-lantern was so cute, therefore many people enjoyed.  I am glad to see their smiles.
Souvenir in Japanese is omiyage (お土産).  What do you usually buy for souvenirs?
