Today is a national holiday called "Midori no hi (みどりの日)" Greenery Day.  Since today is Sunday, and tomorrow is another holiday, Tuesday will be transferred holiday.

It was fine and warm.

I stayed home and tried to set many things to the new smart phone. I tried to watch TV, but could not.  So I will go to the shop and ask near future.

At night there was a monthly meeting for the community.

2013.11.23

It was fine today.

November 23 is a national holiday called kinro kansha no hi (勤労感謝の日), labor thanksgiving day.  Unfortunately it is Saturday today therefore we have a normal 2 day weekend.

I went to Shinjuku to have a birthday lunch for my ex-colleague.  I was an organizer and booked the restaurant, other colleague prepared the card and flowers which looked like a whole cake.  There came 10 adults and 2 babies.  We often get together but there were two whom I met after a long interval.  It is very nice to see them again. 

After that I went to measure my TruAge.  Last time was 23, but this time was not so good because I have had a cold for a week. 

2012.12.23

December 23 is a national holiday called Emperor's Birthday. He became 79 years old. Since it is Sunday, tomorrow we will be off too.
I went to once a week grocery shopping, and found an interesting cooking utensil and bought it.  It is to make rolled egg and I tried to make it.
In the evening my friends from high school and I had Christmas Dinner at French restaurant.  Three of them include of me were regular members, and two of them joined us for the first time,  one is a doctor and the other is a teacher of primary school.    We enjoyed having delicious dinner and chatting.
By the way in Japan doctors and teachers are addressed as sensei (先生.）

2012.5.4

Today is a national holiday called midori no hi (みどりの日), Greenery Day. It was fine and cloudy in the morning, cloudy and rain in the afternoon, and cloudy and fine in the evening around this area. However in the northern area it rained heavily and there occurred flood which left many damages. I went to Kamakura (鎌倉) to see my friend. We went to the French restaurant. It was a very nice restaurant and foods were delicious. Then I visited her house which was built about 100 years ago. We enjoyed chatting. When we got to her house, it started raining. When it almost stopped, we left for Tsurugaoka hachiman gu (鶴岡八幡宮), which is the very famous shrine. Whenever my foreign friends come to visit me, I usually take to Kamakura because it is an old historical place. So I have been there many times. But today I found many new places.

2012.5.3

Today is a national holiday called kenpo kinen bi (憲法記念日), Constitution Memorial Day. The latter half of the Golden week has begun. This time is 4 days off. It rained heavily today. I went to see one of my friends from high school in the morning. And I watched 2 movies in the afternoon. One is a Japanese movie titled "Thermae Romae" which was very interesting. And the other is "The Artist," the Oscar movie.

2012.2.11

February 11 is a national holiday called kenkoku kinen no hi (建国記念の日), National Foundation Day. Since it is Saturday this year, it seems like the regular weekend.

It has been 11 months since the Great East Earthquake happened. There are still many people missing and there are still many places to be recovered.

I had a good day for visiting my friend and practiced the tea ceremony and went shopping. How about is your weekend?
