Today is a national holiday called Seijin no hi (成人の日), Coming of Age Day. It was used to be on January 15, but it has become the second Monday of January since 2000.
To be 20 years old meant to be adult. However from this year the law changes, and to be 18 years old is regarded as adult.
On this day munincipals hold a ceremony, and men usually wear suits and some wear the traditional Japanese costume called montsuki hakama (紋付き袴), and women usually wear long-sleeved kimono called furisode (振袖), which are gorgeous and beautiful.
Today I attended a zoom seminar in the morning, and a real monthly meeting at night.
