It was rainy in the morning but stopped in the afternoon.
It was very cold.
I have had a cold since last Sunday or so and become worse now.
There was an announcement of the Kanji of the year. Sai (災) which means disaster was chosen as the Kanji of 2018. There happened many disasters such as big earthquakes, heavy rain and typhoons, record-making heat and so on.
The Kanji of the year has started since 1995. This was 24th. Sai has been chosen once in 2004.
