2026.4.29

It was cloudy and rainy.

Today is a national holiday called Showa no hi. It was used to be Emperor Showa's birthday until 1988, became Green Day until May 2006, and has become Showa no hi since 2007.
It is the start of the Golden Week.

In the morning I washed, cleaned, and cleared the kimono.

After lunch I started visiting 33 temples. Today I visited 3 temples.I went to Myoonji, Kaizoji, and Kannodo.

I went grocery shopping.

At night I had the 56th Bilingual Fortune Sharing Tea Party and joined a zoom gathering.

2025.4.29

It was fine.

Today is a national holiday called Showa no hi (昭和の日), which was used to be Emperor Showa's Birthday.

I walked to the Miurakaigan station and headed for Shibuya to attend the movie viewing party which I participated as extra for the first time.

After that my friends and I went to have Afternoon Tea. To our surprise four of us were all Blood type O which reminded me of my high school tennis club members.

I came home by taxi.

2020.4.29

It was fine.

Today is a national holiday called Showa no hi (昭和の日), Day of Showa. It was used to be Emperor's birthday while Emperor Showa's reign until 1988. After that it became Midori no hi (みどりの日), Greenery Day. Since 2007 it has become Showa no hi (昭和の日).

Today is the start of the Golden Week. However this year is quite different from usual because of COVID-19.  We are requested to stay home.

I stayed at home.

I picked fuki (ふき) butterbur from my garden and cooked in the morning.

In the afternoon I wrote the draft of my 12th ebook "Things Japanese in December."

2017.4.29

It is a national holiday called Showa no hi (昭和の日), Day of Showa. It used to be Emperor Showa's Birthday, and became Midori no hi (みどりの日), Greenery Day, and now Show wa no hi.

From April 29 the Golden Week starts in Japan. This year if you take May 1 and 2 off you get 8 days off. Many people must travel abroad.

I am now in Santorini, Greece and today I enjoyed the sunset cruise.
