2016.3.18

It was fine and warm in the morning, but became cloudy in the afternoon.

In the morning news I knew the ski jumper Noriaki Kasai(葛西紀明), 43 years old made a record of 500 times participants to the World cup  championship games for 28 seasons. He started his career at Sapporo in December 1988 at the age of 16 years old. He is called "legend" but he made another legend.  He said he would try to 600 games next.
The second person has participated for 399 games.
So he is outstanding.

九月四日(kugatsu yokka): September 4

Another record was made. In 213 points out of 930 in nationwide they recorded as moshobi (猛暑日) which is over 35 degrees centigrade. The highest temperature of today went up to 39.1 degrees centigrade in Hachiman (八幡) in Gifu (岐阜).
In my town it also went up to 35.9 degrees centigrade which was the highest record in September.

Another record was made. That was shut out game by 45 years old pitcher Masa Yamamoto(山本昌) of the Chunichi Dragons(中日ドラゴンズ). He became the oldest pitcher who blanked the game. It's been 58 years since Tadashi Wakabayashi (若林忠志) made the shut out game at the age of 42 years and 8 months old in 1952. Congratulations!

一月十二日(ichigatsu jyuni nichi): January 12

It was very cold today. Around 00:25 PM it snowed in Tokyo. This was the first snow (初雪:hatsu yuki) for this winter. It was 10 days later than average and 3 days later than last year. The temperature was about 3 degrees centigrade at that time, and the highest of today in Tokyo went up to only 6 degrees centigrade. Tomorrow it will be colder too.

Today the new record was made in the sumo world. Ozeki Kaio(大関魁皇), 37 years old set a record of 808th win. It has been 22 years since he entered into the sumo world in 1988 and this was the 99th grand sumo tournaments for him, which is also the best record in history. Yesterday his record became a tie with the ex-58th Yokozuna Chiyo no fuji's (元横綱千代の富士) 807th win. Congratulations!
