2017.3.1

A new month has started.
March is sangatsu (三月), its old name is yayoi (弥生).

It was fine in the daytime but became rain at night.

In the early morning I went to the nearby shrine because today is the first day of the month. It is called  o tsuitachi mairi (お一日参り).

Then I came home once to leave a car to drink because tonight I have a farewell & welcome party of the directors of my department.

In the afternoon I took a few hours off to attend a seminar.

At night we had a party at an Italian restaurant where we could drink and order pizza and pasta as much as we want.
It lasted for more than three hours and I missed the last train.

2015.4.10

It was another cold rainy day.

After work we had a party among staffs of two colleges. We work in the same floor but this is the first time for us to have a gathering.
I was surprised to know there are many people who likes outdoor sports such as climbing mountains.

2013.9.13

It was fine.

After the training, there was the first party among classmates.  There are 30 classmates and most of them attended.
There were three tables and we changed seats at the middle of the party.
After the first party I needed to visit one place and then returned to the second party.  More than half of the participants remained and enjoyed talking and drinking.
I could know about many new information about classmates.
We really had a good time.

2012.12.19

It was very cold today.
December is the season for year-end parties so called bonen-kai (忘年会) which literally means forget year party.
I had the one with co-workers. About 20 people got together. Since our directors were changed on Dec.1, it was also their welcoming party.
How many parties do you have this month?

四月十一日(shigatsu jyuichi nichi): April 11

It was warm and fine today. I had a luncheon at a French Restaurant named "mal D'amour" of the Tokyo Baycourt Club Hotel & Spa Resort. On my way there and to back I could see the beautiful cherry blossom petals dancing in the air like snowflakes. We call this sakura fubuki (桜吹雪).
The restaurant was reserved and about 45 people got together. The restaurant is usually open for only exclusive members and only for dinner time from 18:00 to 23:00. But the organizer's special effort we could use the restaurant for our special celebration party. It was a nice restaurant and we enjoyed the delicious full course dinner as attached pictures. I hope to go back there someday.

一月二十四日(ichigatsu nijyuyokka): January 24

Today I went to Yokohama (横浜) to attend a farewell party for my friends from Expo '92. Twelve of us plus their son got together. They will leave Japan for Spain soon. Farewell party is sobetsu kai(送別会) or soko kai(壮行会) in Japanese. Sobetsu (送別) means send off, soko (壮行) means to encourage the departure, and kai (会) means meeting or party. A farewell gift is called senbetsu (餞別).
It's been almost 18 years since we worked together at the Japan pavilion of Expo 92 in Seville, Spain. However everyone looked almost the same as that time.
When I have a reunion of high school or other group, I have the same feeling. It's so interesting. Without seeing a long time, we still feel we know each other very well. Time goes back to the place where we were easily.
During these 18 years, everyone had a different history of their own. There were 35 attendants there. Some got married and became mothers, others are still singles. Some live in foreign countries, others live in Japan.
Whenever I see them, I feel everyone is very energetic, and I get inspiration.
I am glad to have such good friends.
