It was a cold rainy day.

 

March 3 is known as Hinamatsuri (ひな祭り), Doll's festival. 

I took a day off. Because there are 9 paid holidays left and I wanted to see a Hinamatsuri event. However, the weather was bad and I gave up going there and stayed at home.

Today was the last day of the 199th campaign.

Now I am preparing for the 200th ebook.

I stayed at home all day long.

At lunch time I attended a zoom seminar of the intensive version of Anthony's UPW.

In the afternoon I ordered the monthly album of Nohana, and translated the proposal.

In the evening I attended a monthly network meeting of IWPG and learned selfcare massage.

At night I held the 54th Bilingual Tea Party.

It was rainy in the morning, but we saw the beautiful orange sunset.

I had a fever in the morning though I slept long last night, and was wondering if I should go to work or not, and went.

I had lunch, but I did not feel like eating dinner. It's very rare for me, but I skipped dinner for two nights.

From today my 199th present campaign started.

There are many things to do within this month.

It was slightly rainy in the morning.

There is only one month left at my workplace. There are so many things to do, but so limited time because I still have 9 more paid holidays which I recently noticed. 

I talked about my schedule of March to my colleagues. For them it was so unexpected that they were surprised and shocked at my leaving.

I overworked until 7:30 PM to translate a manual.

It seems there will be two more manuals to be translated.

At lunch time a colleague shared chocolate sweets which color was blue. It looks like White Day present. I was surprired to hear that these days boys return gifts soon after Valentine's Day instead of waiting until White Day.

A new month has started.

March is sangatsu (3月、三月) or yayoi (弥生) in Japanese.

It is the end month of the fiscal year and the academic year.

It is the time of graduation.

There are somethings I do on the first day of the month. To change plants, rice, salt of the in−house shrine, and change the mounted salt.

I usually go to nearby shrine on the first day and 15th day of the month, but today I decided to stay at home to do some paperworks.

I posted the memo for the March calendar.

There was a webinar at night.

It was fine in the morning and Mt.Fuji looked so beautiful that I took some pictures. 

In the afternoon it bcame cloudy.

At night I watched two movies on TV.

One is a foreign movie titled "Late Bloomers," the other is a Japanese originally editted drama "Golden Kamuy."

At lunch time I had appetite, but at dinner I didn't again.

It was a rainy day.

I stayed and worked at home.

In the morning I could not access the server and asked help to IT section.

While I was waiting for the solution, problems were solved though I did not know what happened.

In the afternoon I tried to check the data base and added informatioo to the Excel file, and saved occassionary but the file was not saved. All the work I did became in vain.

I feel sick so I will go to bed earlier.

After three day weekend there were many paperworks and I overworked a little bit.

On my way home I went grocery shopping.

I got a call and was asked to help another big international event. It seems interesting.

They say it will be cold again from tomorrow.

February 23 is a national holiday called Emperor's Birthday. He became 66 years old.

It was fine and warm but windy. They said the First Spring Wind blew in the Kanto area.

It was the last day of three day weekend.

I walked to the station and went to Yokohama to have the new year's party of high school classmates. There were 13 members. We enjoyed meeting, eating, and drinking.

After that I went to China town to see my friend's exhibition.

I walked a lot today.

I started preparing for the199th ebook.

I walked to the station and headed for Ginza to see the Dragon Artist Hirono Nakamura's exhibition.

After that I headed for Shin Okubo to film two scenes of the movie and had dinner.

It was fun.

I moved to Shinjuku and met a friend.

I walked to Miurakaigan via Komatsu ga ike pond to see the Cherry blossoms festival.There were many people at the pond. 

I headed for Hinode cho to attend a monthly seminar. I happened to see someone that I have not seen for a long time.

After the seminar I visited a shrine and temples.

On my way back I got off at Miurakaigan to she cherry blossoms.

I am glad to see the beautiful flowers

It was fine.

There were lots of things to do at office and I overworked a little bit.

At night I watched two movies on TV. One is 2018 USA movie, Johnathan who has two faces, the other is 2024 Japanese movie, Golden Kamuy. I did not know them at all.

Since Monday is a national holiday we have three days weekend. I have something to do every day.

There was something wrong with ANA Pocket, but after contacting customer service for three times, everything returned normal.

There were many things to do after days off and I overworked a little bit.  

There were some sweets. One of them was a farewell gift who will leave at the end of February but the last working day was when I was out of office. Since I did not know anything at all I was very surprised.

Since today's lucky food was rice ball of plum pickles, I made it.

Today was the last day of present campaign of the 198th ebook. It ended up No.1 in the USA, Germany and Japan.

After stopping at a few service areas, the bus arrived at Yokohama about twenty minutes earlier than schedule.

I got the 5:41 train and came back to my station. Unfortunately, there was no taxi waiting there. So, I decided to walk home. Kawazu zakura cherry blossoms were full in bloom. I came home before 7AM.

It seemed rained last night. But it was fine today.

I stayed and worked at home.

I enjoyed some sweets I bought from this trip.

It was fine.

I got up early to attend a morning tour of Naiku by a staff of Jingu kaikan at 6:30.

It was very nice.

After breakfast I changed to Kimono.70 of us went to Naiku to have an Official visit.

We were very lucky to be able to do Mikakiuchi sanpai and see the parade of ceremony members.

After having lunch we visited Naiku for the third time today.

This time we saw the parade of ceremony members again.

We went to have sweets.

After taking off kimono, I headed for Ise city and had dinner.

I took a night bus to Yokohama.

To my lucky my 198th ebook has been No.1 in the USA, Germany, and Japan.

It was fine in the morning, and cloudy in the late afternoon.

I got up early to see the sunrise but unfortunately I could not see it again.

After coming back I changed to kimono and visited three shrines and other places for stamp rally and left for Jingu kaikan.

After leaving the luggage I headed for Isuzugawa and had lunch.

Meeting time was 1PM. We went to Sarutahiko jinja shrine and Geku. We had an official visit and offered betsu dai dai kagura performance.

We had dinner and a lecture for more than two hours and a half.

I got up early and had a square breakfast and checked out around 7:30.

I could not find the bus stop at first, but managed to get on the 7:51 bus and visited Tsubaki ogamiyashiro after a long time. I had sweets and green tea. It was yen 800 before but yen 1000 now

I took 10:30 bus and go back to Yokkaichi and took a train to Shiroko. I visited Ejima wakamiya hachimangu shrine and Ryugenji temple.

I went back to Shiroko and took a train to Hisai and a bus and visited Karasu jinja.

I went to Matsuzaka and visited the castle ruins.

I had very healthy dinner.

I took trains to Futaminoura and walked to the hotel.

Unfortunately private bath was booked and I had to wait until 1 AM.

After a national holiday and a remote work day, there were many paper works waiting.

On my way home I went shopping for souvenirs for cousins I will see tomorrow.

At night I watched a Japanese movie on TV. 

Around 10:10PM I left home and walked to the station and got on a train at 10:46PM for Yokohama. 

Kawazu zakura is full in bloom at the station.

Happy St.Valentines Day!!

I arrived at Nagoya around 6:15AM.

I visited Atsuta jingu shrine first. It's been two since I visited there last. It's too early to take a walk at Kokoro no komichi.

I went back to Nagoya to get together with my cousin and headed for Gifu and got together with another cousin and three of us climbed Mt. Kinkazan where there is a castle remain. We enjoyed the view.

After that we visited one of the three greatest staues of Kannon.

We got together with cousin's daughter and had cake sets which was delicious.

We visited Kogane jinja shrine.

We had square dinner.

Two of us were together up to Nagoya and I headed for Yokkaichi.

I tried to find a bus stop for tomorrow, but I could not.

So I went to the hotel.

I stayed and worked at home.

I asked the delivery company to pick up my suitcase and deliver it to the hotel.

I deleted many old movies and files to make space for the next trip.

It is a national holiday called Kenkoku kinen no hi (建国記念の日), Natinal Foundation Day.

It's been 2686 years since Japan was founded. 

It was used to be called Kigensetsu (紀元節).

It was a cold rainy day and I stayed at home all day long.

It is about my trip to Ehime which was the last trip of 2025.

At night I prepared for the trip to Ise. I packed two kimono sets to send tomorrow to the hotel. I forgot about the broken parts. I'd better buy the new suitcase next time.

It was fine in the morning but became cloudy in the afternoon and very cold.

At lunch time when I went to the dining room, it was closed. When I went there yesterday, it said it would be closed on Thursday and Friday.

Yesterday afternoon there was an email mentioning about the closing date from Tuesday, but I didn't realize about today.

I went to buy lunch.

There were lots of things at work.

On my way home I went to the electric retail shop where I bought the Ceiling light yesterday to give my old one.

I went grocery shopping.

Since it snowed yesterday landscape around Mt. Fuji also covered with snow and looked different from usual.

Since there was something wrong with the ceiling light, I went to the electronics retail shop nearby and bought the one. It worked well and I am glad.

Since it was the day of tiger, I paid many bills.

After having lunch I walked to the primary school to vote. There was a House of Representatives Election. 

After coming home I prepard for the 198th publishing.

For dinner I cooked rice with chicken, carrot, burdock, and fried tofu.

It was cloudy, rainy, snowy and very cold.

 

I stayed at home all day long.

I was going to see a TV program ”Break Through" at 10:30 at channel 6 but it was channel 7 and I missed the first 10 minutes. So I watched it by TVer again. 

I am glad to see someone I know in the program.

In the evening I watched a movie ”Kimi tachiwa mada nagai tonneru no naka(You are still in the long tunnel.) " on the smartphone.

I expected a call but unfortunately it did not come. So I need to take the next plan.

At night I watched a Japanese movie "Kencho Omotenashika" on TV. It is about Kochi. These days I often hear about Kochi.There are 47 prefecturers, but my classmate from travel business class went back to Kochi, my colleague traveled Kochi, and the moderator of last night event was from Kochi. 

The winter Olympic 2026 has started.

Today is Risshun (立春), one of nijushisekki, 24 solar terms. Last one was Daikan (大寒) on January 20 and the next one is Usui (雨水) on February 19.

Risshun is the first day of spring. Though it is still cold, it is already spring on the calendar.

Today is setsubun (節分) when is the division point of winter and spring, therefore it is  the end of winter.

There are four setsubun in a year. But there is a special ritual on the day before the start of spring, risshun (立春).

We throw roast soy beans saying "Demons out and fortunes in."

We eat roasted soy beans as the same number of our age.

This year I tried the new good luck charm, that is eat 8 beans, drink something hot, eat 8 beans, drink again, regulate breathing, and eat 2 beans.

After work I went to a gas station to fill up the car and grocery shopping. I bought special sweets for today.

A new month has started.

February is Nigatsu (2月、二月) or Kisaragi (如月) in Japanese.

On the first day of the month there are some things I do.

One of them is to change offerings of the in-house shrine and change mounted salt.

The other is to visit shrines.

I decided to walk to the shrine and take awalk for a while because it was such a nice day. I happened to see a sign borad of the shrine, so I decided to visit there. It has a long history.

After that I decided to visit one more shrine which I visited last new year's day.

I visited one more place where my neighbour recommended me last week. I was going to buy some vegetables if there are, but it seemed that all were sold out.

I walked more than10 kilometers.

After coming home I ate sweets I bought yesterday with green tea.

At night I attended a zoom gathering.

It was fine.

I got up early and wore kimono.

I took a train at 8:43 and headed for Waseda to visit Ana hachimangu shrine.  Our meeting time was 11AM, but one came late, another canceled. While visiting I happened to see someone from the Mr. Yamaguchi's seminar.

When I visited the next temple, I happened to see another friend.

We visited two more temples, and went to a sweets shop.

We headed for Shibuya and had Chinese lunch.

After that we went to attend the monthly Peace Network Meeting. Usually we hold the meeting by zoom but today we invited two lecturers and learned communication tool. We had a good time.

After that five of us had dinner. Dessert was volumy.

I came home around 10:20 or so.

I walked to the station and headed for Tokyo.

After that I went to Roppongi after a long time.  I visited two shrines and the National Art Center, Tokyo to see my friend's artwork and herself. There are some exhibitions and visited.  I even tried to make Chigirie, a picture made by cut paper. I visited Fuji Film Square after a long time.

At night I joined the zoom event of IWPG.

After that I held the 53rd Bilingual Fortune Sharing Tea Party.

There will be winter Olympic Games, Milano Cortina 2026 next month.

I have been a big fan of Olympic Games, and I have been to Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996, Nagano 1998, Sydney 2000, Salt Lake City 2002, and Athene 2004.

Since Olympic Games started in Athene, I decided to visit Athene last. 

So, since then I enjoy watching the Olympic Games on TV.

The movie was made in France in 2010 and an action movie.

The drama is the final episode of the 26 years long run series and two hours long version. 26 years is very long, but the main actress has been beautiful and not changed so much.

Today I received the payment roll online for the first time.

There was the article of the New Year's Post Card lottery on today's newspaper. This year I only got one 4th prize.

Today was the first day of filming. This was the very first time experience.It was interesthng.

It started around 9:30 and ended around 18:00 as scheduled.

They say today is the day of rice ball because it was distributed on the day of Great Hanshin−Awaji Earthquake on January 17, 1995. It's been 31 years since that day.

I walked to the station, took trains and headed for Sugita to go to the beauty salon to have my hair cut and perm.

After that I had lunch and went grocery shopping. 

After coming back I prepared the clothes for filming tomorrw.

It is a day of tiger which comes every 12 days. Tiger goes 1000 ri (about 4000km) and comes back. So it is said that if you spend money it will be back. I paid construction fee and others.

Tonight I watched two movies on TV. One was "Rear Window" by Alfred Hitchcock.

The other was the first movie of Detective  Conan.

To my glad my 192nd ebook has been No.1 in the USA.

The new priority pass arrived. I hope to travel abroad and use this card.

Today is my dead father's birthday.

January 15 is known as koshogatsu, small new year. They say porridge with red beans is eaten on this day. I cooked it for the first time. It was delicious.

January 15 used to be a national holiday called ”Coming of Age Day.'' Becomig to 20 years old was to be an adult.

It was fine but windy.

January 11 is known as kagami biraki, mirror opening. It is the day to eat kagami mochi, piled round rice cakes dedicated to Gods.

When I was young, we decorated the real rice cakes.

However, we have decorated the plastic rice cake shaped container with round or square shaped rice cakes inside for many decades. There were 5 round rice cakes inside this year.

I ate two of them by sweet red bean soup called zenzai and two of them by kinako mochi, sprinkled by roasted soy bean flour with sugar.

Today I published the 192nd ebook about my trip to Okayama.

And I am preparing the 193rd ebook.

I attened three zoom events today.

I stayed at home all day long. 

It's been three years since I started working at my current working place. So, I need to renew my resume. Since my PC was broken suddenly last year, I could not use the old one which I submitted last time. There were some additions from that time.

My 190th ebook present campaign was over. To my glad before it's over my 190th and 191st ebooks became No.1 and No.2 in Asia Travel.

On my way home I went grocery shopping because of Kagami biraki on Sunday. Since I had yen500 coupon I went to the nearest supermarket.

We have a three day weekend from tomorrow. There is no special event so that I will stay home and do deskwork.

The last one was toji on December 22 and the next one is daikan on January 20.

Shokan literally means small cold.

Today was the first working day of the year. It was so cold after 10 days.

I got a call from my high school teacher and a new year's card from my student who is a colleage teacher now.

I got a Christmas card from the USA which was posted on December 18.

I like these communication at this time of the year.

Last day of my winter vacation.

I stayed at home all day long.

I cooked the dessert using cocknuts milk for the finally. Since I heard about it, I bought a can of cocknuts milk. However, I did not have a chance to make. From tomorrow I need to bring lunch for three days. So, I decided to make.

I ate the Bocchan dango I got when I went to Matsuyama last month.I had them with powdered green tea. It's been a while I did so.

I cooked dinner.

The new NHK's Taiga drama started. It looked interesting.

I attended some webinars.

It was fine and beautiful.

I left home around 8:30 and walked to the station. Mt. Fuji was so beautiful.

I went to Shinjuku and got together with my friend and visited Shinjuku Yamanote Seven Gods of Good Fortune.It is about 6.9km in total.

At Itsukushima jinja there was Shishi mai, Dragon Dance. I felt very lucky.

At the 6th place I got together with two more friends. After visiting two temples, we found another one and enjoyed visiting.

After that we had Thai dinner.

Two of us visited Tokyo dai jingu shrine but there was a long waiting line. So, we gave up entering, but prayed outside.

I came home around 20:30.

The Wolf Moon was so beautiful.

It was fine here, but the news said it snowed in Tokyo.

I watched the last part of Hakone Ekiden Day 1 on TV. It was so exciting.Aoyama Gakuin University won the race for the three years straight at the time of 1h07m17s.Congratulations!!

January 2 is known as Kakizome, meaning first writing of the year. And it is Ichiryu manbaibi today. So I think it was a good decision.

 Happy New Year 2026!!

I went to the nearby shrine after midnight and received the red and white rice cake and sacred sake.

After coming home, I took a bath.  I was going to bed soon but there was a TV program about Izumo Oyashiro and I watched it.

I got up early and went to see the first sun rise.  It was cloudy, but between clouds I could see the beautiful sunrise. I saw Mt. Fuji too.

I received the New Year's Cards, and I went to post office to send new year's cards. Since postage has been raised to yen85, many people stopped sending new year's cards. However, since I love to send and receive new year's cards, I will send them as long as possible.

On my way back home, I saw the Kawazu zakura cherry blossoms.

After coming home, I ate new year's dishes with sacred sake called Toso.

In the afternoon I sent some new year's message by Line, Facebook messenger, and emails with a new year's gift.
