I have had a cold for a week or so.  First I had a sore throat and now I am suffering from cough. Cough is seki (咳) in Japanese.

Today is the last day of obon (お盆), and the sending fire of Kyoto (京都) and Hakone (箱根) are known as daimonji yaki (大文字焼き) of the mountain. The fire is lit as the shape of a kanji character of dai (大), meaning big.  There are other shapes too.　The spirits of the ancestors are supposed to go back to the other world today.

１１月１５日（jyuichi gatsu jyugo nichi）： November 15

I took a day off to go to hospital for myself in the morning, and to take Father to the hospital in the afternoon.
I have had a neck, shoulder, and back pain, but after all the doctor did not treat at all.

November 15 is known as shichi go san (七五三). It is a day to celebrate 7 years old girl, 5 years old boy, and 3 years old girl to wish their healthy growth.
