It is very cold today.
January 11 is known as kagamibiraki (鏡開き), literally mirror opening. It is a day to eat the new year's rice cake called kagamimochi (鏡餅). We usually eat them as o shiruko (お汁粉) which is sweet red bean soup.
I ate the delicious one.
