2013.8.12

It was another very hot day.
In Shimantom, Kochi, it went up to 41 degrees centigrade which is the hottest record in history in Japan.  They say 1116 people in all over the nation were brought to hospital because of heat stroke.  Even at night temperature is nearly 30 degrees centigrade.

It's been 28 years since the worst airplane accident happened in Japan.

Today is the day for the Perseid Meteor Shower.  I have a good memory to have gone to see them in the middle of nowhere in the Everglades National Park when I was in Florida.  I hope to see shooting stars tonight.

It slightly rained today, which made snow melted somehow, however there are still others left though it's been already more than a week since it heavily snowed.
Every day many different news happen.  These days the top news is the terrorism happened in Algeria.  Today's other news were U.S. President Mr. Obama's second inauguration ceremony and the Japanese world famous film director, Mr. Nagisa Oshima (大島渚)'s funeral. He passed away at the age of 80 after a long struggle with illness.
Recently Ms. Toyo Shibata (柴田トヨ) who is a famous poet also died of senility.  She was 101 years old.  She became famous after publishing her first book ”くじけないで(kujike nai de:  Hold on!)”at the age of 98 or so which was sold 1,600,000 copies by August 2012.  She started making poems after becoming 90's years old.  Amazing lady!
