2019.1.17

It was fine but cold.

It's been 24 years since Hanshin-Awaji Great Earthquake happened. They say the memorial service is held notonly in Kansai but also in Hibiya park, Tokyo from this year.

Now is the time for Australia open tennis tournament. After midnight games are on air. My favorite tennis player Kei Nishikori has been playing so good. I knew he won from the news. So I can watch the game with relief. They say it lasted for nearly four hours. Karlovic had 59 service aces.

I went to see Kei Nishikori's first International championship game in Delray Beach, Florida on February 17,
2008.

I hope to see the final games in lives someday again.

2012.1.30

It is cold today. In the evening it started snowing.

There was the final match of the Australian Open yesterday. After 5 hours 53 minutes, Selbian professional tennis player Mr. Novak Djokovic won against Mr. Rafael Nadal from Spain by 5-7,6-4,6-2,6-7,7-5. This was the longest Grand Slam final match.
This is the 3rd time for him to become a champion at the Australia Open and it was two years in straight.

Our hero Mr. Kei Nishiori's (錦織圭) ranking became No. 20 in the world.
Congratulations!

It was hot today too.

These days I have watched Wimbledon Tennis Games on TV which broadcast midnight. Yesterday Ms. Kimiko Date-Krumm (クルム伊達公子 40) played a game against Ms. Venus Williams (31) who had been a champion for 5 times at Wimbledon. Though she lost after all, I think she had a really good game.
Tonight Ms. Misaki Doi (土井美咲 20) won the game. Congratulations!

Tonight I watched two tennis related news. One is Kei Nishikori's (錦織圭) first match at the French Open (Roland Garros 2010). He won by 3-2. First two sets he lost, but he turned the table. It's been 17 years since Japanese men's tennis player won the game at the French Open. Congratulations!
I used to play tennis when I was a high school student. But I have not played tennis for a long time. When I was in Florida, I had a chance to see Kei Nishikori's match with Blake in Delray Beach. He became a champion there at the age of 18 on Feb. 17, 2008. That was the most impressive event in my Florida life. After the game I went to see him downstairs and took some pictures with him. He is a very nice person and I have been his fan since that time.
The other was documentary about the Paralympic gold medalist Shingo Kunieda (国枝慎吾)'s effor to walk. He got hurt his spinal cord when he was young and has used a wheel chair since then. Last year he started the rehabilitation training to walk at the J-Workout. And after a severe training he could stand and walk after a long time. It was a wonderful news.
