It was cloudy and rainy in the morning.
Weather forecast was right and it srarted snowing in the afternoon.

There was an alarm for big snow in Tokyo and we were recommended to leave the office earlier.
It's been four years since we had this big snow.

I was going to work as usual, but my colleagues worried about me because I live far away from the office and they were afraid of no train service. Therefore I decided to leave the office earlier as other staffs. Trains delayed and they were so crowded.Therefore I had to stand for a long time.
When I got to the station, there was a lot of snow and piled. I felt it dangerous to drive home because there are slopes. So I walked home. It took about three hours from office to my house tonight.

We have had blackout so often tonight.

Anyway I am glad I came home earlier.

2017.1.14

It was fine in the morning, became cloudy and slightly snowed in the afternoon. It was a very cold day. Yes, it was the coldest day this winter.

I went to Kimino Style Miya first to leave the goods for evening, then to Naritasan temple nearby for this year's first visit. It was around 11 am. To my lucky I could attend the special fire praying ceremony called ogoma kito(御護摩祈祷). I saw seven lucky gods statues of Noge there.

Then I went to Shinonome to attend the seminar about how to travel by first class using mileage. This was the second time for me to attend this seminar, but I learned something.

Then I went back to Kimono-Style Miya to get dressed and taken pictures. Today there was a special event.  We could take pictures with four men from Yamagasa festival in Fukuoka. I did not know about it well and did not expect, but they sang for us and performed. It was a nice experience.
I got many new year's gifts there. 

When I came back to my station, it seemed to have rained. But it was not. I was so surprised to see my car covered with snow. Because Miura seldom has snow, and it was not snowing in Yokohama. Miura is located at the south of Yokohama, so it should be warmer.

2016.1.18

It was very cold.
When I left home, it was sleeting. Because of snow in Tokyo trains delayed for more than an hour and it took about four hours from my house to the office this morning.
When I got to Ikebukuro it was raining.
In the late aftrnoon the sun appeared.
There are some snow left.

2015.2.5

It was a cold rainy day.
When I got to Tokyo, it was snowing. It did not pile though.

At the Ikebukuro station they were conducting evacuation training.

The 66th Sapporo snow festival has begun.
It will last till February 11th.
Star wars and the Manila cathedral are highlights of this year.

I hope someday I go to see it.

2015.1.30

It was rainy when I left home but snowing when I got to Tokyo, and piled.  However in the afternoon it changed to rain and melted.  If I was a child, I must be happy to see the snow and enjoy playing.
But as an adult trains tend to be delayed and crowded, and the road becomes messy, so it is not so good.  Furthermore since I go traveling tomorrow, I hope it will be fine tomorrow.

2014.2.8

It has been snowing since last night and this is the biggest fall for 20 years or so.  We seldom have snow here but it's already piling more than 10 cm or more.

I had three appointments today but canceled all for this snow and it was right because the train was also canceled due to this snow.

The 22nd Winter Olympic in Sochi was opened at 20:14 to accord the year 2014.  There is time difference so it was after midnight here.  I am looking forward to seeing some events.
I have  been to see many Olympic games since 1992 and I went to two of them in Winter games in Nagano 1998 and Salt Lake City 2002.  So it's been already 12 years since I went to see them last.  How fast time flies!
