2013.7.11

It was another hot day.  This is the 5th moshobi (猛暑日) heat wave day.  It seems to be hotter than last year.
Yamayuri (ヤマユリ), Mountain lilies are full in bloom in our back mountain and they are so beautiful.
I went to tea ceremony lesson in the afternoon. My classmate gave me a beautiful kimono because it is too small for her to wear. That is so kind of her to think of me.
It's been 2 years and 4 months since the Great East Japan Earthquake happened.  There are still many people suffering from the event.

2012.7.12

Finally the gold-banded lilies (ヤマユリ: yamayuri) started blooming in my back cliff.  Every year I am looking forward to seeing them bloom. This year it seems rather late.  Yamayuri (山百合), literally means mountain lily,  is a flower of Kanagawa (神奈川) Prefecture.

There were earthquakes this afternoon.   And heavy rain is keep falling in Kyushu (九州) area.

2012.6.12

It was cloudy, windy and slightly raining in the morning.  When I got to Shinjuku, I did not have to use the umbrella, but at night it was raining and I had to use it.  It was rather chilly.
The flower of the rainy season is ajisai (紫陽花:hydrangea.), literally purple sun flower.   There are many colors such as blue, pink, purple, white and so on.  They change the color from blue to red purple therefore they are called shichihenge (七変化), literally seven changes.
At my house they are still buds, but on my way to the station I see some blooming.

4月6日(shigatsu muika): April 6

It was warm today.
The cherry blossoms in Tokyo are full in bloom. There have been so many sad things in Japan these days, people tend to walk looking down. Many people did not realize that spring has come.
We really like to see cherry blossoms. Tonight I watched the NHK TV program called Historia. Today's program was all related to cherry blossoms. The history of viewing cherry blossoms since Heian (平安) era, 8th century, the biggest cherry blossoms viewing party at the civil war era in 16th century, the story of cherry blossoms of Washington DC, and so on.
The following program was titled "Songs." In this program the songs related to cherry blossoms were also featured.
I hope you have a chance to come to Japan in this season to see the beautiful cherry blossoms.
