It was fine.

On my way to the office I usually drop at the convenience store and buy almost the same thing for lunch. It seems the price has become a little bit higher.

There was a big event this afternoon. I am glad it went well.

The new TV drama programs started recently. It looks interesting.

2018.12.17

It was rainy in the morning.
My train delayed again due to the jam caused by rain.

There was an event in the evening and I helped the preparation in the morning, reception in the afternoon, and clearance in the evening. It was a surprise to know how to remove/set the seats from/ on the floor.

After work I went to the Fuji Film Square after a long time, and got 2019 calendar by exchanging a stamp card full of 24 stamps. There are beautiful pictures of Japan.

I went shpping after that.

2018.2.27

It was fine but cold.

The biggest event of this month was over. It went well.
From next Monday another program starts.  Since March is the last month of a fiscal year, there will be a lot of paper work.

At night I saw the digest of the beautiful scenes of the Pyeong Chang 2018 on TV news program. I have not seen them at the real time. I wish I could have watched.

2017.11.24

It was fine but cold.

It's Black Friday. Did you buy something?

We had the 20th anniversary event at our institution. We were required to wear the dark suits.  I was in charge of guiding and ushering the guests near the reception. I had been standing for more than 5 hours, and to my worse I had to stand in the train for more than one hour on my way back home.

2017.4.25

It was fine.

There was a big event today and I helped at the reception desk and cleanup. Since there was a reception too, we ate leftovers before cleaning. After all I left the office nearly 8 pm.

One of the keynote speakers was 83 years old or so and appeared by wheel chair. We worried a little bit.  But on the stage he looked fine and spoke vigorously and houmorously and I was impressed a lot.

One day is one day even if you spend in bed or outside doing whatever you like. If so, we should do what we want to do until we die. I felt this kind of message from his speech.

2017.1.28

It was fine.

I walked to the station because I had a party tonight. There were Kawazu zakura (河津桜) blooming at the station. It is still cold but spring will come soon.

There was a symposium of ISD and Kirei design which I learned last year up to instructor's levels.
At the award ceremony, both of my instructors were awarded. Congratulations!
Megumi was the guest, and her main character was a moving around tiger which is the same as mine, therefore it was very interesting.

After that I attended the party and got to know many new people. It was fun to talk with people who have something in common.

Thank you everyone.

2016.3.15

It was fine but very cold.

I took a day off and went to Maihama where there are Disney Resorts. I am not interested in Disney so I have not visited there for a long time, and actually this was the first time to see IKSPIARI. There were many shops and restaurants.  I met my friends at an Italian restaurant for lunch.
Then we attended two days big event. There were about 2000 participants. There was a recognition part and so many people were awarded. Some of them delivered speech.
Someday I want to be one of them.

2016.3.6

It was cloudy in the day time, but started raining in the evening.

There was a big event, the 34th Miura International Marathon in my city today. It is a sister race of the Honolulu Marathon. There are four courses; half marathon, 10km, 5km, and kid's beach marathon for 800 meters.  Fixed numbers are 5000, 3000, 2000, and 400 respectively. The top 6 men and women of each race will be awarded respectively.
They say one from 10km finishers and two from half marathon finishers will be invited to the Honolulu Marathon.

All the participants will get a special T shirt and a daikon (大根), Japanese radish.  Miura is very famous for Miura daikon.

When I was a junior high school teacher, I participated in the races twice with my students.

2015.4.7

It was a cold rainy day.

I went to see the entrance ceremony at the Tokyo Art Theater in the morning.  It is a big place. I had to go up to the fifth floor by escalator first, then changed to the elavator to upper floor. In the afternoon I saw many people waiting in the line to take a picture in front  of the board saying entrance ceremony at the gates.

I went to the Toshima Ward office to help the new international student to register.  There  were so many people waiting. We needed to visit three sections, and it took more than three hours and and a half. I knew the tree of the ward is someiyoshino cherry blossom today.

2013.11.4

It was a cool rainy day.

It was a transferred holiday.

I went to Shibuya to attend en event organized by my teacher who had worked at UNIDO for 26 years.  It started at 12 PM and lasted till 4 PM. The theme was "The Era to Make Your Dreams Come True."  There were some speakers.  The first speaker said "To make your dreams, to think, to say, and to do are important." The next group introduced "Laughter Yoga."  I have never heard that before.  To laugh is very good for yourself.  Even if it is not from your heart, it is still good. The third one introduced how to move "To sit, to stand, and to stand up."  To practice these actions in a certain way every day makes you keep healthy. After the break my teacher gave a lecture.  He is a specialist of African matter.  He told us what we can learn from Africa and the need of international organization in which Japan leads.

I was surprised to see my acquaintance there and asked the reason he attended.  He said he met my teacher at my first book publishing party last year and became Facebook friends and knew today's event.  Here I felt I became a bridge.

2013.8.31

It was another hot day.  The last day of August.

I went to Shibuya to attend a big forum.  This was the first time for me to go there by Toyoko line after it went to Saitama prefecture this March.  Everyone says it became very inconvenient and very complicated.  I just used the station to come out, but there were so many people and indeed it was difficult to find the way.

There were more than 1500 participants to the forum and it started at 12:30 and lasted till 17:30 with 15 minutes break.  Registration started at 11:30 and I arrived there just before 12:30, so there was no handout including DVD left and it was so hard to find the place to sit down.  After a while a staff found me a seat to my lucky.  There were about 10 speakers and I could learn many things.
The best part was I could take pictures with presidents.  They were very kind.

Today's lesson was "First come, first served."  I should have arrived there earlier.

2013.8.3

I went to Shinjuku to attend a monthly meeting.  I met three friends there and had lunch at the European style restaurant together.  It was a nice restaurant.
In the afternoon I went to the Tokyo Big Sight to see the Healing Fair.  Last year I got an invitation card from my friend and attended there for the first time.  I could see Mr. and Mrs. Yamakawa who are very famous translators such as "Out on a Limb" by Shirley MacLaine, "The Celestine Prophecy" by James Redfield, "Many Lives, Many Masters" by Brian L. Weiss, and "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne.  I gave my book to them and got their autographs and took pictures together and had a good time.  Therefore I decided to visit there this year again to see them.  I bought their two books and got their autographs and took pictures together again.  I was very glad to hear that she happened to look at my book today.  I am looking forward to reading their books.

2013.5.26

It was fine today.
There were many events today here and there.
I participated in the event called "Yokosuka kaido Walk (Yokosuka 海道ウォーク)."  I invited friends to join me by Facebook, but nobody could join unfortunately.  I distributed the leaflet to some friends but they could not join either.  When I asked other friends by saying, "Yokosuka kaido walk," some people could not image kaido (海道) which means seaside road, but thought of kaido (街道) , highway or road.  There are many homonym in Japanese.
The registration time was between 9:00 to 10:30.  I thought there must be many people at 9 AM, so I left home after laundry.  When I got to the starting point, it was nearly 10:30.  At the first check point, there were volunteer guides and I listened to their stories which were informative.  I spent with them nearly 45 minutes there and started late, almost the last.
I visited some shrines on the way.  I arrived at the goal at 14:25 after having walked 16km (10 miles) and felt tired.  At the goal there were some ending programs such as ceremony, songs and dances.
Today's lessons were "The early bird catches the worm (早起きは三文の徳:hayaoki wa sanmon no toku)" and "First come, first served (早い者勝ち:hayai mono gachi)."  Because the first 2,000 people got the souvenir ticket at the entry desk and got many presents.  Today there were more than 3,700 participants.
But there is another one, "There is luck in the last helping (残り物には福がある:nokori mono niwa fuku ga aru.)" Because I ate Yokosuka gunkan curry (横須賀軍艦カレー) there for yen 300 which was yen 500 earlier.
On my way to the station, I happened to see the festival in Yokosuka.

Today was senshuraku (千秋楽), the last day of grand sumo tournament in TokyoYokozuna Hakuho (横綱白鵬) became a champion again.  This is his 25th victory which is the third rank in history, and the 2nd complete victory straight and his 10th complete victory.
There was Nihon Derby (Japan Derby).  The horse named KIZUNA and rider Yutaka Take (武豊) won.  This was his 5th victory at Nihon Derby which is the most in the history.
Kimiko Date-Krumm (クルム伊達公子) became a champion at the Tennis doubles game of Internationaux de Strasbourg.  She is 42 years old.  It's great, isn't it?
Congratulations!!!

2013.5.11

It rained.
I went to Shinjuku to attend a meeting then went to Nakano to see Flamenco show with my high school best friend.
First we went to eat dinner at the sushi restaurant.
Then we walked to the venue.  I was invited by her who was given two tickets from somebody in the show.  It was yen 4,500 sheet ticket but we could sit anywhere we like.  We sat at the right side of the third row from the front.
It started at 6 PM and ended around 9 PM with 15 minutes break in between.
It's been a long time since I saw Flamenco last.  There were many dancers.  Their costumes were very colorful and beautiful.
I remembered the days I was in Seville, Spain and felt like going back there.

2013.4.5

It was fine and warm today.
April 5 is a starting date for school year. It seems there were entrance ceremonies called nyugakushiki (入学式) at primary schools here and there.  To take a picture under the cherry tree is a thing to do on this day, but this year cherry blossoms were already full in bloom two weeks ago, so it was somehow different.
I had 4 appointments and enjoyed seeing old friends today.
I went to the Hibiya Park to attend the events sponsored by a travel agency with two ex-colleagues.   Before that we enjoyed Friday Concert by Tokyo Fire Department Band.  It was 842nd events.  They will have about 18 concerts until the end of October.   Three of us enjoyed the concert and travel festival which included the concert of Kantele, an instrument of Finland.
There were many beautiful flowers in the park and we enjoyed the spring of Tokyo.

In the afternoon we visited the castle park and happened to see the film shooting which will be released next fall.
In the evening we had a big party and everyone enjoyed.
Now we moved to Nagano (長野).

4月10日(shigatsu toka): April 10

It was warm today.
There were 13 gubernatorial electins including Tokyo(東京), Kanagawa (神奈川), Hokkaido(北海道), and 5 mayoral elections including Sapporo (札幌), and 44 prefectural assembly elections.
The results have been already published. In Tokyo, Shintaro Ishihara (石原慎太郎), 78 years old, won the fourth four-year term.
After voting I went to see the beautiful cherry blossoms.
