2012.9.12

They say today is the day of marathon.  42.195 km.  Have you ever run?
Some of my friends have run full marathon many times, others do shorter distance.
When I was a junior high school teacher and in charge of the special needs education class, I ran almost every day with students.  The first month for 1 km, the second month for 2km, the third month for 3km, the fourth month for 4km, and the fifth month and later for 5km.  And after several months' training, students and we (teachers) participated in the city's marathon race for 5 km in March.  Practice makes perfect.
But basically I do not like running, so I do not think I will do full marathon in my life.
My colleagues go for 5km running around the Imperial Palace after work these days.  I do not want to run, but someday I want to join them for a walk around there.

2012.3.4

It was cloudy, windy, and cold today.
There was Lake Biwa Mainichi Marathon (びわ湖毎日マラソン:biwako mainichi marason) which is also for selecting the runners for the London Olympics. I did not watch the race because of the job, but it seems a Japanese runner Mr. Ryo Yamamoto (山田亮) became in the 4th.
In my city there was the 30th anniversary Miura International Marathon. This is the sister city marathon of Honolulu marathon. But the length is not 42.195 km, but its half marathon.

2012.2.26

There was the Tokyo Marathon 2012.
More than 36,000 people registered for the entry, and 34,674 people could finish running. It started at 9:10 AM and closed after 7 hours.
The winner was Mr. Michael Kipyego from Kenya and the record was 2 hours 7 minutes 37 seconds. And the second was Mr. Arata Fujiwara (藤原新), 30 years old Japanese professional runner. His record was 2 hours 7 minutes 48 seconds.
There were about 10,000 volunteers.
My friend from university has also participated in and completed! Congratulations!!
